On Alejandra Guzman's 2004 release, LIPSTICK, the gritty Mexican rocker teams up once again with producer Desmond Child. Much of Guzman's allure stems from her sensual voice and her openly sexual lyrics. The title track, a single that is sung both in Spanish and English, features a droning melody, a hard-hitting drum pattern, and the story of a sex-crazed woman. "Hoy Me Voy a Querer," another single, is a reinterpretation of Bif Naked's "I Love Myself Today." On this piece, Guzman's primal screams steal the thunder from the raucous, heavily distorted guitars. "Supersexitada" continues in a similar hard-rock vein. However, this tune also features a surprisingly subtle and stripped-down verse section. Guzman is a decadent rock & roll artist, offering up musical erotica at its best.

I really dig Alejandra's music, and I am learning some Spanish from the lyrics as well. You gotta move to this stuff. You know Alejandra really puts her moves into it!

Alejandra Guzman has been the feminine face in latin rock in the last decade, and now she returns with a very interesting mix of rocky blues, deep emotional lyrics and a little touch of pop with the song that names the cd, Lipstick.
With Beto Cuevas' "Save me" she reflects the angest of being trapped in drugs and the battle a person faces. Faithful to her rocky principles and screaming womens' rights "Today I will love me" represents a song for all women who decide to make an end with a rotten relationship. Best of all lyrics can you hear in "You are my light", a love lullaby a mother sings to her daughter who inspires her to be a better human being.
With Lipstick Alejandra Guzman delivers the work that every fan dreams about from a singer, with Lipstick Guzman returns like a hurricane to take back the Latin rock star 1st place.

Om man ska upptäcka den latinska musiken, i denna skiva finns allt from tung rock och idylliska blues, som "Du är min ljus", var a mor sjunger till sin dotter, som inspirerar henne att kämpa vidare.
Lipstick är mer poppig, och det går bra för att dansa. Djupare är däremot "Rädda mig", där en missbrukare ropar för hjalpen i mitten av "den mörka natten".
Alejandra Guzman är den bästa bland de bästa i Latinska musiken. Måste köpas.

Definitivamente la espera para èste disco valiò la pena, un gran resurgimiento musical con unas mezclas de sonidos electrònicos y la incomparable voz de èsta mujer que con sus letras nos lleva al èxtasis, unas canciones que nos pueden arrastrar a bailar, asì como a pensar en esa persona a quièn amamos, a no sentirnos derrotados o simplemente demostrarnos que somos tan fuertes como querramos ser.
Si te gusta LA GUZMAN, èste disco te encantarà, porque es un ventana abierta al corazòn de la mejor intèrprete del rock en español
