| Extinct Instinct Music Review Average Rating: (4 out of 5 stars) Progressive Metal This is Damian Wilson at his very best! If you like melodic guitar and crunchy riffs you'll think you've died and gone to heaven.Favourite songs "Part Of The Chaos" , "Lake Of Despond" and "Eat The Unicorn". Try their newer albums first! Threshold is my latest discovery and and a new favorite to add to my progressive collection. This is thier 1997 album, which is not in my taste, but their later albums rock! Try SUBSURFACE and CRITICAL MASS if you want to know the best of Threshold. OTHER ARTISTS I RECCOMMEND: SYMPHONY X, KAMELOT, RHAPSODY, SONATA ARCTICA, DREAM THEATER, ENCHANT. Go progressive! Submitted by PhilosopherX (SD, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
THE BEST ALBUM IN THE WORLD!!! For me the best Threshold album, culmination in both composing and playing such progressive songs. Profound lyrics, comlex melodies and Angelvoice of Damian Wilson are distinctions that make it a masterpiece. Because of a such unique harmonies and overwhelming feelings it is needless to analyse it any further. In one word- untouchable inspiration's peak. Innovative progressive rock. On their third CD, original vocalist Damian Wilson returned to the fold, and as a result, this album sounds quite a bit like their debut, Wounded Land. Threshold had increasingly perfected their style on this CD, with heavy rhythm and ethereal lead guitars, while the keyboard background creates a very full sound. The songwriting here is a more experimental, but even if the album is less consistent than some of the band’s others, there is some very good, and strikingly original material.

| | Diana Princess Of Wales Tribute CDs (1997)
Extinct Instinct songs
$16.19 Proceeds from the sale of DIANA PRINCESS OF WALES TRIBUTE will go to benefit the charitable trust fund created in her memory.
Benefiting the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund, this double CD brings together some of the biggest names in several genres of music, from R.E.M to Aretha Franklin to Placido Domingo, who dedicate both well-known and brand new material to the memory of the Princess. Included among the classic pop hits are Eric Clapton's "Tears in Heaven," Bruce Springsteen's "Streets of Philadelphia," and Diana Ross's "Missing You," all touching, melancholy ballads which underscore the tragedy of Diana's death and the depth of the loss felt by those who mourn. Some of the songs written especially for the album include Peter Gabriel's spare "In The Sun," Sinead O'Connor's soulful version of the hymn played at Diana's funeral, "Make Me A Channel of Your Peace," and a moving remake of the Eurythmics' "Angel" by Annie Lennox. A moment of uplift is provided by the Pretenders' ...
| | Chuck Hedges No Greater Love CD (1992)
Extinct Instinct album
$9.95 Although he has been a top clarinetist for over 30 years and a popular attraction at classic jazz parties and festivals, clarinetist Chuck Hedges has had relatively few opportunities to lead his own record dates; in fact, this Arbors CD was his first session as a leader in nine years. Pianist Eddie Higgins (showcased on his "Magnolia Rag"), bassist Bob Haggart and drummer Gene Estes are swinging and supportive of Hedges, who is in top form on such numbers as "There Is No Greater Love," "Samba Dese Days," and "Cheek to Cheek." A superior advanced swing date. ~ Scott Yanow
