Atmosphere are a two-man group made up of MCs Slug and Spawn. There are a few pieces of filler on Overcast!, but it does have its share of good songs too, such as "1597," "Sound Is Vibration," "Scapegoat" and "Cuando Limpia El Humo." "Sound Is Vibration" has a heavenly feel due to the harp used in the beat, and Slug and Spawn bring a lot of energy to the song. "Scapegoat" is a creative song done by Slug, in which he talks about all the excuses people use for their mistakes without considering their own faults. The only guest on the album is Beyond, who appears on "Current Status" and "Adjust." All songs are produced by Ant. ~ Dan Gizzi Atmosphere Overcast! Songs Overcast! classic any fan of hip hop, especially atmosphere should check out this album. even though it's their first cd, slug, musab and spawn already have well-developed styles and flows. My personal favorite of atmosphere. The highlights are 1597, @, multiples, scapegoat, and the hidden track, trailer park chicken, but listen through the whole thing please. | | Atmosphere Lucy Ford CD (2000) Extended Play
Overcast!
$11.65 Atmosphere includes: Slug (rap vocals). Additional personnel includes: El-P (rap vocals). The opening track on Lucy Ford, "Between the Lines," burrows into the heads of a frustrated policeman, an oblivious young girl who watches movies perpetually to get away from her own life, and an indie rapper who descends into self-abnegation instead of self-aggrandizement -- hardly typical subject matter for a rap song. In fact, with Slug's singsong delivery, it hardly seems like a rap song at all, and is tugged back toward the genre ...

H.I.M. (Goth Rock): Gas, Linde, Valo, Mige, Burton. Building on the momentum of 2005's well-received DARK LIGHT, which finally garnered HIM a large international following, VENUS DOOM finds perpetually brooding frontman Ville Valo once again leading his darkly clad ensemble through a set of lovelorn metal tunes. This time around, however, the revered Scandinavian agro-goth band tones down the atmospheric keyboard parts, allowing Mikko "Linde" Lindstrom's stinging guitar work, which often nods to veteran hard-rock six-stringer Zakk Wylde (Black Label Society/Ozzy Osbourne), to shine through, resulting in one of HIM's heaviest albums. Highlights of VENUS DOOM include the surging "Passion's Killing Floor" and "The ...
