Includes a bonus DVD. Personnel: Rick Nelson (vocals, guitar, piano); Bobby Neal (guitar); Andy Chopin, Dave Morgan (piano); Pat Woodward (bass); Rick Intveld (drums). Includes liner notes by Marc Allan. Just to be clear, both the CD and DVD portions of this two-disc set are from the same live performance that Rick Nelson did for a TV show in 1985, and while it's all perfectly pleasant and professionally delivered, the versions here of songs like "Travelin' Man," "Fools Rush In," and "Lonesome Town" are not the original singles, which have a little bit more vitality and presence. Nelson fans should appreciate this, though, since it was his last filmed performance before his death. ~ Steve Leggett COLLECTORS EDITION presents Rick Nelson--1950s child TV star turned rockabilly teen idol, early-'60s balladeer, and leader of late-'60s country-rock act the Stone Canyon Band--aging gracefully with all his stylistic irons in the fire. Recorded only a few months before Nelson died in a plane crash at the age of 45, this 1985 concert performance covers all facets of the singer's career, from rockabilly to ballads to country. Backed by a tight band, Nelson delivers his hit singles, shifting easily from rock & roll ("Stood Up/Waitin' in School") to country twang (the wryly philosophical "Garden Party") to atmospheric pop ("Travelin' Man," "Poor Little Fool"), before closing out with the plaintive "Lonesome Town." While a cover of the Stones' "Honky Tonk Women" (with Nelson on piano), is the set's only big surprise, there are enough favorites here to satisfy. COLLECTORS EDITION also includes a DVD containing live footage of the concert. Rick Nelson Collectors Edition Songs Collectors Edition Review

| | Opeth Watershed CDs (2008) With DVD; Special Edition
Collectors Edition
$21.29 The forward-thinking Swedish titans, who seamlessly and fluidly combine metal, classic rock, prog, folk and free form jazz, continue the Opeth tradiion with their second album on Roadrunner. The DVD companionpiece features rehearsal tapes, a 5.1 audio mix of Watershed and 3 bonus tracks.
Opeth: Mikael Åkerfeldt (vocals, guitars); Fredrik Akesson (guitar); Per Wiberg (keyboards); Martín Mendez (bass guitar); Martin Axenrot (drums). Opeth's ninth studio outing ,WATERSHED, is not only an improvement upon 2005's GHOST REVERIES, it plunges the group headlong into a fresh wellspring of creativity that is evident throughout. Starting with the folkish "Coil," the band plays with a host of new sounds, allowing the keyboards to breathe and simultaneously lulling the listener into a false sense of security with sugary female vocals. Opeth then blasts into "Heir Apparent" with a rejuvenated fervor not heard since 2001's BLACKWATER PARK. WATERSHED is riddled with new, experimental instrumentation, heart-pounding song arrangements and impeccably crisp production. A pioneer of atmospheric genre-blending, Opeth takes its neo-progressive rock and scorches it with some of the most black-tongued, shredding death metal this side of the abyss. After album (or "observation," as the band likes to call them) number eight -- Ghost Reveries -- Opeth could have very easily coasted, merely rehashing their sound. Instead, they opted to challenge themselves and their ...
