(85 Customer Reviews)
Like many rappers in the southern states, B.G. blends a sense of humor with a darker worldview, and occasionally leans towards the violent landscapes of the Geto Boys. Nowhere do the two sides mix with more awesome chaos than on the anthemic ... Full Description"Factory." B.G. displays his prowess both in lyrical potency and dizzying swagger while throwing in a shout to his past on the crawling "My World I Want It.'" He also proves he can change gears effectively on the semi-lewd, '70s-inspired, funk-infused ballad "Bust a Move." B.G. doesn't miss a beat as he slides into his new existence on LIFE AFTER CASH MONEY.
B.G.'s rapping skills made serious revenue for the legendary Cash Money label before he was a teenager (and before there was much of a Cash Money label of which to speak). On 2004's LIFE AFTER CASH MONEY, B.G. sounds like someone who's moved beyond his origins, with easy vocals gliding over magnificent Dirty South beats. Although he makes it clear that he's no longer affiliated with the record company with which he was practically synonymous in the 1990s (this is his second record for Koch Records), B.G. still brandishes a hard-edged style that doesn't break for a second.

Life After Cash Money album
$14.35 So what does a guy who spat out hardcore gangsta rhymes as a pre-teen do when he reaches legal drinking age? Apparently he gets even harder. On LIVIN' LEGEND, New Orleans Dirty South pioneer B.G. (aka B. Gizzle and formerly Baby Gangsta), spends much of his time warning anyone who might mess with him that he takes no guff (the terminology he uses to communicate this is, of course, a mite more colorful). On his first album since leaving his longtime label Cash Money under questionable circumstances, B.G.'s skills are undiminished, and he uses his prodigious talents to slam the company and anyone else who might doubt his talents. The rapper's trademark super-laid-back rhyming style (which makes even Snoop Dogg Sound hyperactive) carries a chilling ...
| | Lil Wayne Tha Carter CD (2004)
Life After Cash Money CD music
$9.95 Lil' Wayne has been in the national spotlight since his days as the youngest member of the Dirty South's Hot Boys. On his fourth solo record, THA CARTER, Wayne is almost wholly on his own. There are no big-name guest stars (as with Petey Pablo's memorable turn on Wayne's previous album), only recurring shots from producer Mannie Fresh and Cash Money head Bryan "Baby" Williams. Lil' Wayne's easy flow speaks for itself; ...

Life After Cash Money music CDs
$13.99 In 2002, after a fruitful partnership with Cash Money, New Orleans rapper Juvenile parted ways with the crew, creating the Uptown Project (or UTP) with childhood friends. During 2004, he returned to the Cash Money fold for JUVE THE GREAT, where half the record consisted of collaborations ...

| | B G Heart Of Tha Streetz Vol. 1 CD (2005)
Life After Cash Money album
$14.45 B.G. has a knack for merging an absolutely hardcore view on life with a sinisterly melodic background, laying it all out with a raw, languid swamp drawl. B.G. rapped through a Southern haze long before it was the style, and the murkily alluring "Fool Wit It" and the eerie "Where Da At" (with a hypnotic heartbeat breakdown) remind us of how the products of his "pinball mind" work. When he gets energized, as he does talking about his home on "Chopper City," the effect is powerful. Overall, THE HEART OF THA STREETZ VOL. 1 succeeds on the merits of the easy confidence at the center of B.G.'s ...
