| | Vond Selvmord CD Vond Discography of CDs
This is a reissue of the debut Vond, retitled (from Slevmord) to reflect the new artwork. Vond is Mortiis under another name. The gloom, despair and sinister sounds are carried out in much the same way as the two Mortiis solo records. An even more understated and elongated melody line seems a weakness, to me. Much of the synthesizer sounds evoke classical instrumentation such as flute and strings. An excellent way to wind down after a particularly chaotic evil session of Dungeons and Dragons in the tunnels or from a sweaty exercise in self-loathing and mutilation. Take your pick. ~ Tom Schulte Vond Selvmord Songs | 1. | Selvmord |

| | Judas Priest Sad Wings Of Destiny CD (1976)
Selvmord CD music
$9.89 Frontman Rob Halford has considered this to be Judas Priest's SGT. PEPPER, and it's easy to see why. The album expanded upon the group's debut by tackling a variety of styles, utilizing dynamics to striking effect, and establishing the essential guitar interplay between Glenn Tipton and K.K. Downing. "Victim Of Changes" may be forever known ...
| | Megadeth Rust In Peace CD (1990) Bonus Tracks; Remastered
Selvmord music CDs
$9.75 After the success of PEACE SELLSŕBUT WHO'S BUYING? in 1986 and SO FAR, SO GOOD, SO WHAT! in 1988, Megadeth was fast becoming one of thrash metal's leading outfits. However, the band's hard work was nearly derailed because of the continuous dismissals of band members and chronic substance abuse. Founding members Dave Mustaine (guitar/vocals) and Dave Ellefson (bass) changed their ways before work on their fourth album began, hiring drummer Nick Menza and ex-Cacophony guitarist Marty Friedman. When Megadeth re-emerged with RUST IN PEACE in 1990, metalheads were happy to hear that the changes hadn't dulled their attack in the slightest.
"Holy WarsŕThe Punishment Due" is an absolutely crushing opener that shows off the technical expertise of the musicians, while "Hangar 18" covers the familiar ground of alien visitation and government conspiracy. Both videos were put in heavy rotation on MTV's Headbanger's Ball program, which helped land the band a spot on the successful heavy 'Clash of the Titans' tour with Anthrax, Slayer, and Alice In Chains. Other highlights include the heavy hitters "Five Magics," "Lucretia," and "Rust in PeaceŕPolaris."

| | Dio Holy Diver CD (1983)
Selvmord album
$7.09 Despite recording two hit studio albums with Black Sabbath (1980's HEAVEN AND HELL and 1981's THE MOB RULES) and playing throughout the world to huge crowds, Ronnie James Dio left the band in 1982-the year of his final release with Sabbath, the in-concert LIVE EVIL. As soon as the announcement of his departure was made official, Dio began to put together his first solo project. Joining him were former Rainbow bandmate Jimmy Bain on bass, former Sabbath bandmate Vinny Appice on drums, ex-Sweet Savage guitar hero Vivian Campbell, and newcomer Claude Schnell on keyboards.
HOLY DIVER, Dio's band debut, was issued in 1983. The album ...
| | Shrinebuilder CD (2009)
Selvmord CD music
$14.89 This album is a sort of summit conference of underground heavy music. Guitarists and vocalists Scott "Wino" Weinrich (the Obsessed, Saint Vitus, Spirit Caravan, the Hidden Hand) and Scott Kelly of Neurosis are grizzled veterans whose hoarse, guttural shouts and instantly recognizable, distorted guitar tones carry the authority of years of hard touring and introspective yet still crushing rock, while bassist Al Cisneros (Sleep, Om) and Melvins drummer Dale Crover shake the earth with their gigantic rhythms. The five tracks were laid down in three days, with some minor overdubs done shortly afterward, and they have the organic feel of jams transformed into cohesive songs through application of the group mind. Wino's usual biker-rock riffage is frequently replaced by a more psychedelic, drifting sound with long sustained notes floating over Cisneros's trance-inducing basslines (Ted Nugent's "Stranglehold" seems like a bigger influence ...

$10.45 1973 was a busy year for Fleetwood Mac, who continued to ply a mix of California country rock and blues at a time when glam ruled the roost in England. PENGUIN was one of two albums recorded that year and the band's first since parting ways with Danny Kirwan. Replacing him were English guitarist Bob Weston and singer Dave Walker, who the Mac stole from Savoy Brown after an American tour with that band. Due ...
