| | Lemar Dedicated CD - Import Lemar Discography of CDs
(3 Customer Reviews)
UK soul performer Lemar Obika first gained exposure on the reality show FAME ACADEMY, and DEDICATED is his 2004 debut record. The 15 tracks include "Another Day" and "Stargate."
The proliferation of television talent shows over the past couple of years have shown that, if you can sing, you don't necessarily have to be an overall winner to succeed. Although Lemar Obika came in third in the first series of Fame Academy, this was enough for him to gain a major record deal & a brand new singing career. 'Dedicated' is Lemar's debut set, & it's an album that squares up his position as one of the UK's best-ever urban soul voices. However, he hasn't limited himself to simply pursuing one genre. 'Dedicated' cleverly recognizes that Obika's listenership is as diverse as any TV audience. Consequently this is an album that uses soul music as a starting point before leaping off to the pop side of things & all stops in between. Producers on the set include Stargate, JD (So Solid), Fingaz (Big Brovaz) & more. 15 tracks. Sony Music UK. 2004. Lemar Dedicated Songs | 1. | Dedicated | |

TALENTED ARTIST ON THE RISE!!! This album does not fail to deliver pure class and excellence. I was impressed from the first track to the last! I seriously hope that Lemar gets the recoqnition that he deserves because I hate it when a talented artist does not get the full opportunity to shine. 'lullaby' & 'Hot Summer' dislay how diverse Lemar can be with a different flow of music, e.g. from a slow track to a jeep pumping and club thumping track. I suggest that everyone should have this album in their collection.
Enjoy people - Enjoy.

Purchase Dedicated CD To buy, Click on price to add to cart | Lara Fabian CD (2000)
Dedicated album
$7.59 Industry bigwig Tommy Mottola's discovery, French-language chanteuse Lara Fabian hits it big with her self-titled English solo debut. Packed with passionate love songs in the Barbara Streisand and Celine Dion vein, Fabian takes the power ballad one step further. Her voice and music are best described as dramatic, the songs here ranging from catchy tailor-made Top-40 dance tracks such as "Till I Get Over You," and "I Will Love Again," to power ballads such as "Adagio," which appears here both in English and Italian.
Fabian's voice is clear and amazingly strong, ranging from a near-whisper to a powerful belt. The lyrics are non-offensive and inspirational in a broken-hearted sort of way. Fans of Celine Dion and Mariah Carey will find Lara Fabian the ideal addition to their record collections.
Engineers include: Dave Reitzas, Ross Hogarth, Jay Healy.

| | Monica After The Storm CD (2003)
Dedicated CD music
$7.59 DMX (rap vocals); Bryan Michael Cox, Rodney "Darkchild" Jenkins, Soulshock, Karlin (various instruments); Eric Jackson, William Odum, RJ, Tommy Martin, Charles Pettaway (guitar); Bam, Ryan (keyboards, drums, programming); Montez Arnold, Dominique (keyboards); Tweet, Shamora Crawford, New Birth Praise Team (background vocals).
After then-teenaged Monica waited an unusual three years to follow up her 1995 platinum debut MISS THANG with THE BOY IS MINE and scored one of the biggest crossover hits ever with that sophomore effort's title track, she waited five years to drop her third album, AFTER THE STORM. There's something to the whole slow-and-steady thing, and while the record was consigned to the "notoriously delayed" bin for awhile, it was seemingly not for anything lacking in the album itself.
Monica possesses a sultry, multi-octave voice and knows how to wield it to great effect. On AFTER THE STORM, the singer is furnished with the perfect songs around which to wrap her imperious voice. Monica even shows off her own songwriting ...
| | Anthony Hamilton Comin' From Where I'm From CD (2003)
Dedicated music CDs
$9.59 COMIN' FROM WHERE I'M FROM was nominated for the 2004 Grammy Award for Best Contemporary R&B Album. "Comin' From Where I'm From" was nominated for Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance and for Best R&B Song.
Anthony Hamilton grew up in North Carolina, caught the eye of record companies, and released a major-label record in 1997, XTC, which was critically lauded, but mostly forgotten and quickly out-of-print. Following this setback, Hamilton hung around the music biz, working on his songwriting and background vocals, until his big break came in 2002, singing the hook for the Nappy Roots hit "Po' Folks."
The music on his second album, COMIN' FROM WHERE I'M FROM, transcends his rise-to-fame backstory. Hamilton is a soul singer in the truest sense of the phrase, a crooner with heart from the school of Curtis Mayfield, Bill Withers, and Teddy Pendergrass, as well as an intense songwriter on par with all of the above. The album features the vocalist standing as tall on more conventional modern R&B numbers like "I Tried" as on Philly throwbacks like "Better Days" and the darker storytelling soul of the title track. "Chyna Black" is a true standout, a driving ballad that's almost folk in the vein of later John Martyn or Tracy Chapman, with a brilliant sing-a-long hook. Anthony Hamilton never gave up on trying to find a forum for his music, and with COMIN' FROM ...
| | Musiq Soulchild Soulstar CD (2003)
Dedicated songs
$10.45 This is a hybrid Super Audio CD playable on both regular and Super Audio CD players.
"Forthenight" was nominated for the 2004 Grammy Award for Best Urban/Alternative Performance.
For Musiq, soul is everything. From his former professional surname, Soulchild, to his third record's title, SOULSTAR, and even an album photo that features him wearing a T-shirt reading "Soul Rebel," Musiq makes it abundantly clear that soul is his driving force. Not surprisingly, SOULSTAR lives up to its name, as Musiq locks into a series of tight grooves and lets his smooth voice carry the tunes.
The opening title track begins with some deft scratching and a delicate string backing that gives way to Musiq's velvety croon and Carol Riddick's old-school R&B vocal refrain. On "Womanopoly," Musiq's lyrics cleverly riff on the real estate board game and coast over a strolling beat. Perhaps most impressively, the vocalist pulls off ...

| | Anthony Hamilton Ain't Nobody Worrying CD (2005)
Dedicated CD music
$9.59 After the success of his 2003 album, COMIN' FROM WHERE I'M FROM, R&B/soul singer Anthony Hamilton followed up in earnest during 2005, first with a collection of previously unreleased tunes, SOULIFE, and then with another new studio record, AIN'T NOBODY WORRYIN'. This latter disc truly solidifies Hamilton's sterling reputation; it's an utterly confident outing that nods to 1970s soul music without being beholden to the style of that era. In fact, Hamilton's deft balancing of both vintage soul and contemporary production is what helps the expressive vocalist stand out in the crowd. Rather than calling up his R&B/rap peers for guest shots, Hamilton largely goes in alone on this solid record, allowing superstar producer Mark Batson and others to create organic backdrops that perfectly showcase his undeniable talent.

| | Raheem Devaughn Love Experience CD (2005)
Dedicated CD music
$9.75 "Who" melds an instantly classic melody (that falls somewhere between 1970s Philly soul and 1980s Reid-Babyface) with a surreal synth hook and a wandering rock guitar, and is a perfect example of the alluring depth of THE LOVE EXPERIENCE. DeVaughn's vocals fit his compositions perfectly, whether it's the ultra-slow bedroom eyes of ...
