His first release since leaving R&B trio O.N.E. in 2001, Parce Qu'on Vient de Loin is the highly personal debut album from French-language vocalist Corneille. Based on his tragic real-life experiences of the 1994 genocide in his native Rwanda, which saw his family killed and led to him fleeing to Germany, its 14 self-produced tracks include the singles "Seul au Monde," "Avec Classe," "Ensemble," "Reves de Star," and the title track. A bonus edition featuring previously unreleased songs, acoustic remixes, and video clips was also later released. ~ Jon O'Brien

i have a 2 year old daughter who loves him so much. my husband and i use the CD to comfort her to sleep and she loves it. my daughter can sing all the songs in the album.

Even as a non-French speaker it is easy to enjoy the beauty of this cd. I highly recommend it.

5 stars Go Buy this Album
I discovered Corneille on a recent trip to Montreal to visit my aunt. After a huge lecture about not losing my culture because I live in NY now, she finally dragged me out to MusicWorld to buy the Corneille CD. I'm so excited that I did that because the CD is beautiful. I've played it for all my friends and they all love him too. His CD is on constant rotation at my house because I love it so much. His CD has a sort of Craig David feel to it and if you like Craig, Corneille is definately the way to go. His voice is beautiful, his lyrics are smooth and well written, and he's got the perfect balance of fun pop/r&b songs to slow serious ballads. This album is a must have for anyone who likes good music.
