A cursory listen to DISCLAIMER reveals a debt to such U.S. heavy rock bands as Papa Roach and Drowning Pool, no great shock since Seether producer Jay Baumgardner had previously worked with both of those bands. The surprising part is that this ... Full Descriptionvery American-sounding nu-metal band actually comes from South Africa. Their homeland is where the Dave Matthews Band comparisons abruptly end, though. Seether goes for the time-tested power-trio format that's served hard-hitting rock bands in good stead throughout the decades, from Mountain to Nirvana. Singer, songwriter, and guitarist Shaun Morgan is at the heart of the group's sound, his angst-ridden lyrics and emotive delivery occasionally suggesting the influence of the aforementioned Kurt Cobain-fronted band. Grunge flavoring to the contrary, though, this is a solidly contemporary band whose sheer sonic force puts them directly in the forefront of circa-2002 heavy rock. (Note: DISCLAIMER II features this debut, in addition to eight bonus tracks and a DVD.)
This is a DVD & CD combination by Seether. The DVD contains 30 minutes of live footage, Four music videos including "Broken" & "Fine Again. Behind-the-scenes of the making of the "Broken" video. The CD contains a new version of "Broken, " is remixed, repackaged, with 7 bonus tracks of previously unreleased songs.
Recorded at NRG Recording Services, N. Hollywood, California and Larrabee Studios, Hollywood, California.

Rolling Stone (9/19/02, p.99) - 3 stars out of 5 - "...Stuffed with angst-y images of burning houses, expired dreams and even bed-wetters....Not much optimism here, but a little toe-tapping catharsis counts for a lot..." Disclaimer II album
$6.39 This audio document of The Corrs' Dublin homecoming concert has pretty much everything fans of Irish pop could wish for, including an appearance from Bono in his earthly incarnation, fresh from an audience with President George W. Bush. It's to the band's credit that the charismatic singer fails to steal the show, despite creditable efforts via an anthemized version of Ryan Adams' beautifully downtempo "When the Stars Go Blue," and a great, leering rendition of Lee Hazlewood and Nancy Sinatra's "Summer Wine."
Somewhat more mysteriously, Rolling Stone Ron Wood also turns up on what sounds dangerously close to a lounge version of Jimi Hendrix's "Little Wing," but this minor faux pas is redeemed by the Irish folk medley "Joy of Life/Trout in the Bath" which arguably ...
| | Evanescence Fallen CD (2003)
Disclaimer II CD music
$13.39 Evanescence won the 2004 Grammy Award for Best New Artist. FALLEN was nominated for Album Of The Year and for Best Rock Album. "Bring Me To Life" won for Best Hard Rock Performance. The song was also nominated for Best Rock Song.
Picture Tori Amos fronting Nickelback and you'll get an idea of the sound behind Evanescence, an Arkansas quartet whose introduction to the world came via the DAREDEVIL soundtrack. With its debut FALLEN, Evanescence further pushes the envelope on the aforementioned description, with frontwoman Amy Lee pouring her light-yet-strong vocals into the aggro-rock workout "Bring Me to Life" and industrial trip-hop of "My Last Breath." Although guitarists Ben Moody and John LeCompt leave no riff unplayed on hard-hitting cuts like "Going Under" and "Taking Over Me," Lee brings a nice balance to the table with her gorgeous piano runs, which come to the fore ...
| | Breaking Benjamin We Are Not Alone CD (2004)
Disclaimer II music CDs
$10.85 When Aaron Fink and Markus James left Universal Records act Lifer to join the then-unsigned Breaking Benjamin, many hard-rock fans were skeptical. WE ARE NOT ALONE, the latter band's sophomore effort, promises to silence the naysayers for good. Led by powerful vocalist Ben Burnley, Breaking Benjamin delivers a snap-tight, streamlined brand of heavy alternative rock with occasional detours into the rhythmic funk-metal territory inhabited by Limp Bizkit and Korn.
With strong melodies reminiscent of Staind or Incubus at their most accessible, the Pennsylvania combo makes good ...

Disclaimer II CD music
$35.29 This specialHong Kong CD/DVD (NTSC format) double pack comes in a gatefold sleeve. The DVD includes a photo gallery.
With their third outing, SOME CITIES, Doves created their most cohesive album to date. While the British trio's debut, LOST SOULS, conjured up a wonderfully melancholy mood, and its follow-up, THE LAST BROADCAST, expanded the band's sonic palette, SOME CITIES sees Doves fine-tuning their sound with the strengths of both previous releases. Atmospheric rock remains the group's calling card, as best exemplified by the shimmering "Almost Forgot Myself," the string-laden "The Storm," and the woozy "Shadows of Salford." Although the album is filled with mid-tempo tunes, "Black and White Town" picks up the pace with a Motown-like backbeat, "Walk in Fire" builds to a thrilling crescendo (much like THE LAST BROADCAST's "There Goes the Fear"), and "Sky Starts Falling" presents the trio in a buoyant, rocked-out mode. Crafting three excellent albums in a row is a tall order for any band, but with SOME CITIES, Doves have done exactly that.
Limited edition pressing of their third includes a bonus DVD (NTSC/Region 0) unavailable on US pressing. The bonus DVD features a short film (approx 11 mins) of the 'making of' the album titled "Cities Under Construction", plus a photo gallery (set to an exclusive album instrumental) and the Director's Cut of the video for "Black and White Town" by acclaimed Director Lynne Ramsay. If the first two Doves albums, Lost Souls and The Last Broadcast, ...
