| | Isaac Hayes Hot Buttered Soul CD (1969) Bonus Tracks; Anniversary Edition; Remastered
Satisfaction CD music
$9.58 This is a hybrid Super Audio CD playable on both regular and Super Audio CD players.
A staff songwriter with the legendary Stax label, Isaac Hayes, with partner David Porter, composed material for many of the company's artists, including Sam And Dave, Carla Thomas and Johnnie Taylor. Frustrated with this backroom role, he began recording in his own right, and with Hot Buttered Soul, redefined the notion of soul music. Although the tracks were lengthy, there was no sense of self-indulgence, each one evolving over sensual rhythms and taut arrangements. Hayes' vocal anticipated the 'rap' genre of Barry White and Millie Jackson without slipping into self-parody, lending an air of sophistication to a highly influential collection.
Digitally remastered by Joe Tarantino.
Additional Tracks
Recorded at Ardent Studios, Memphis, Tennessee and United Sound Systems Studio, Detroit, Michigan in 1969. Includes liner notes by Bill Dahl.

| | Pink Funhouse CD (2008) Explicit
Satisfaction music CDs
$15.29 Pink's insistently hooky, attitude-filled pop-rock has kept the singer a fixture on the radio and on singles charts since the early 2000s. The artist's fifth effort, FUNHOUSE, doesn't tamper with the formula: Pink's powerhouse vocals and in-your-face approach, backed by stadium-sized production, are in full effect on all 12 tracks. Even though the album deals primarily with aftermath of her divorce and includes serious moments of self-confrontation like "Sober," fans needn't worry that Pink has lost any of her chutzpah.
If anything, there's an increased sense of confidence and newfound liberation on tracks like the chest-thumping "So What" and the mischievous, bouncing "Bad Influence." In softer moments, like the ballad "I Don't Believe You" and the soulful "One Wrong Foot," Pink channels her personal experience into expressions that carry no less strength or muscle. But FUNHOUSE is a pop album first and foremost, and its catchy choruses, rollicking beats, and memorable vocal performances won't disappoint.
Arrangers: Stevie Blacke; Ulf Janson; Henrik Janson.
Personnel: Pink (vocals, background vocals); Shellback (guitar, acoustic guitar, omnichord, keyboard, bass guitar, drums, percussion); Pete Wallace (guitar, piano, harmonium, bass guitar, programming); Max Martin (guitar, bass guitar); Eg White (guitars, Hammond b-3 organ, drums, percussion); Jimmy Harry (guitars, keyboards); Peter Parente ...
| | Crystal Method Divided By Night CD (2009) Digipak
Satisfaction songs
$13.35 Always a staunch supporter of the guest shot, the Crystal Method packs its fourth studio album, DIVIDED BY NIGHT, with high-profile appearances, resulting in another round of dynamic big-beat tracks that manages to be a bit moodier than past outings. Taking a break from battling with his former bandmates in New Order, Peter Hook lends his signature bass lines to the pulsing "Dirty Thirty" and the funky "Blunts & Robots," while Justin Warfield of Joy Division acolytes She Wants Revenge contributes vocals to the dramatic "Kling to the Wreckage." Other performers include Matisyahu (the brooding "Drown in the Now"), Metric's Emily Haines (the ...
| | Cam'Ron Crime Pays CD (2009)
Satisfaction album
$15.65 Three years after KILLA SEASON was met with mixed receptions, following rifts within his clique and a barrage of industry rumors, the Dipset leader returns with a lot to prove on his long-awaited sixth LP, CRIME PAYS. Lackadaisically boasting over coke-sniffing sound effects that double as percussion on the intro "I got a record company, liquor and clothing line," Cam'ron seems to have long scaled the lonely-at-the-top heights of rap-star/mogul status so that by album six, he finds it a tad boring. However, the brooding arrogance displayed on slow-mo cinematic tracks "Cookin' Up," "Where I Know You From," and "Who" ...

| | Roosevelt Sykes Sings The Blues CD (1962) (Import) Reissue; Remastered; United Kingdom
Satisfaction CD music
$13.75 Originally released on the Diablo label in 1962, ROOSEVELT SYKES SINGS THE BLUES is a classic Sykes date. The set is full of romping boogies, slow-burn ballads, and straight-ahead blues stomps featuring a loose but gutsy band backing Sykes on vocals and piano. Sykes's singing and playing are characteristically bright, and he manages to sound elegant and classy without ever losing his bluesy punch. The 2006 reissue boasts improved sound and is a happy reminder of the pleasures of this luminous bluesman.
