SWEAT opens with "Heart of a Champion," a powerful, sports-referencing piece of adrenaline-pumping hip-hop that samples, of all things, John Tesh's "Roundball," the ubiquitous theme music for NBC Sports. From the ballfield, Nelly moves the party ... Full Descriptionto the club for most of the remaining tracks, with pure dance cuts like "Na-Nana-Na" and the crunk-flavored "Flap Your Wings." He breaks stride for a more sinister 1970s-funk vibe on "Tilt Ya Head Back," featuring a soul-stirring vocal turn from Christina Aguilera. "Playa" goes for a smooth groove, with Mobb Deep and Missy Elliott dropping by to cast a mood both dark and sweet. For SWEAT, Nelly clearly intended to create a loose, unguarded party atmosphere, and with help from his friends and the best producers in the game, he succeeds.
After a pair of multi-platinum records made Nelly the instant icon of St. Louis rap, the man who found the perfect balance of pop and hip-hop still had a surplus of music to let out. So with his 2004 efforts, Nelly decided to split up his new compositions into two albums--the down-and-dirty, raw club jams and the smooth, refined songs, respectively SWEAT and SUIT.

Nelly broke out in 2000 with his debut, COUNTRY GRAMMAR, and its infectious summer-anthem title track. Two years later, the St. Louis rapper dropped the multi-platinum NELLYVILLE and another summer anthem, "Hot in Herre," which balanced raw carnality with a deft pop hook. ENCORE is far from a letdown, as Eminem's twisted mind continues to produce razor-sharp rhymes, whether examining the world (the aforementioned "Mosh"), venting his spleen ("Puke"), exploring his soul ("Like Toy Soldiers") or just being plain silly ("My 1st Single"). While Em's inclination towards the shocking is well documented, other than "Mosh," the record is relatively toned-down; he even apologizes for racist comments made on a 1993 underground tape. Since their inception, Philadelphia's Roots could always be counted on to expand the edges of hip-hop. PHRENOLOGY marked the height of the troupe's experimentation with punk breaks, long jazz loops, and raps ranging from the hardcore to the whimsical. "I'm a lyrical poet, with many metaphors and punch lines in my rhymes." Vill Rawsteen gets his name from the Robert Deniro character in Casino because he flows tight. "I'm a hood story teller spitten what I see and paint pictures for everyone to see." S.V. stands for Stay Vicious, which is self-explanatory. His rhymes are unpredictable and raw. He uses a combination of punch lines and street lingo to get his point across.The Burnaz have been performing at local colleges and clubs to promote their upcoming album "Circle Is Tight" They've opened up for Wu Tang's Killah Army,and performed along side Doug E. Fresh. With live apperances at college radio, cable shows, and a heavy underground following from tracks laid down on several mix tapes, The Burnaz are building a name for themselves.The Burnaz lead single "Hell No, Uh Uh" which features the first lady off of Raw Inc. Candis is already in heavy rotation in the NY club scene. With club goers dancing at Club Envy, Blue Tequila or Luahn one can't seem to escape the Burnaz club banger! The track is radio friendly and has maistream appeal. The strength of the Burnaz lie in their lyrical ability, which allows them to paint pictures and bring tracks to life. In "Guess Who", Vill let's you know what he's all about. "Load your heaters/i'm in the hood with dimes and cheebah/three ninas getting brain from the baddest diva/n**** like me trying to see chips like D-Jeter/on the block with nicks and dimes/I don't mean change either." While many MC's are not able to express their personal feelings to the world, "Once Upon A Hood Life" they express what goes through their minds as they come up in the mean streets of Brooklyn. Here P. Novakane with the sounds of a soft trumpet mixed with softer piano notes, opens up to his listners. "We all/cried them tears and felt them pain/we all/put in years in this selfish game/we all/ stood with no fear with dealt the rain/no umbrella no hoody never would we show shame/my whole brain got polluted thoughts/you got to close your eyes to see all the sh*t we fought.."
