Totally SICK! Baby Ann is just totally sick with mix of hers! I absolutely love this mix album of hers! WHat I love most about her is that she is a true "BASS HEAD"!! And I appreciate everything she brings to the table! Awesome all the way through!! Submitted by jkcheeks (Oak Harbor, WA, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Honey Baby, good for the eyes!!!! I first caught wind of this honey baby in the UK in 2000. The tracks are good. The mixage is decent. If you are considering this because you loved the live mix from Vegas from the Moonshine lable, don't waste a second. Buy this album now!!! Look for all her releases. The pace is 122-128. Can you keep up with the DJ???????? Submitted by busychild9 (Global Race BMX) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
hot??? have you ever seen baby anne in person? she's really not hot at all. wears NO makeup.. hair -FLAT, brown and short. she went to ultra in a baggy track suit.. in reality she's more of a PLAIN JANE than a sex vixen like her label portrays. $19.98 When Jon Anderson rejoined Yes after DRAMA, he was inserting himself into an unusual situation. Keyboardist Geoff Downes and longtime guitarist Steve Howe had left to form Asia with prog rock vets John Wetton (King Crimson, Roxy Music etc.) and Carl Palmer (ELP). Chris Squire and Alan White brought original Yes keysman Tony Kaye back and recruited vibrant young Australian guitarist/vocalist/composer Trevor Rabin. The quartet had already begun writing and recording, but Anderson was able to insert himself into the proceedings with such ease that the new combination sounds completely natural on 90125.
Mostly, the band ...
| | Michael Buble Crazy Love CD (2009)
Mixtress
$15.05 Buoyed by the popularity of the hit contemporary pop ballad "Home," singer Michael Bublé's 2005 album, IT'S TIME, clearly positioned the vocalist as the preeminent neo-crooner of his generation. Easily the singer's most stylistically wide-ranging album so far, 2009's CRAZY LOVE is also one of his brightest, poppiest, and most fun. Bublé kicks things off with the theatrical, epic ballad "Cry Me a River" and proceeds to milk the tune with burnished breath, eking out the drama line by line. It's over the top for sure, but Bublé takes you to the edge of the cliff, prepares to jump, and then gives you a knowing wink that says, not quite yet -- there's more fun to be had. And what fun it is with Bublé swinging through "All of Me," and killin' Van Morrison's classic "Crazy Love" with a light and yearning touch. And just as "Home" worked to showcase Bublé's own writing abilities, here we get the sunshine pop of "Haven't Met You Yet" -- a skippy, jaunty little song that brings to mind a mix of the Carpenters and Chicago. Throw in a rollicking and soulful duet with Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings on "Baby (You've Got What It Takes)," and a fabulously old-school close-harmony version of "Stardust" with Bublé backed by the vocal ensemble Naturally ...

| | Atlas Sound Logos CD (2009)
Mixtress
$11.64 Bradford Cox was a virtual song machine during the time between Deerhunter's CRYPTOGRAMS and the Atlas Sound's LOGOS, churning out officially released material as well as plenty of songs only available on his blog. Over that span of time, he became a finer and more fluid songwriter, and his music emerged from the experimental fog of his earlier work just enough to give listeners tantalizing glimpses of almost ridiculously catchy songs. LOGOS keeps this push-pull between challenging and charming, yet Cox's second solo album still feels more experimental than Deerhunter, if only because he seems completely unfettered by any kind of rules or concerns about consistency. These songs barely sound like each other, yet they all sound like Cox. LOGOS comes into focus slowly with its first three songs. "The Light That Failed"'s hazy atmospheres slip effortlessly into "An Orchid"'s spectral recall of MICROCASTLE's psych-pop, but it's "Walkabout," Cox's irresistibly sunny collaboration with Animal Collective and Panda Bear's Noah Lennox, that announces that the ...
| | Pink Martini Splendor In The Grass CD (2009) Digipak
Mixtress
$13.14 Pink Martini follow the around-the-world-in-a-dozen-songs thrills of HEY EUGENE! with SPLENDOR IN THE GRASS, a mellower, simpler set of small pleasures. These are relative terms, however; the group's music is still well-traveled, with China Forbes singing in five languages (English, Spanish, Neapolitan, French, and Italian) instead of the six or so on EUGENE!. However, Pink Martini opt for a more unified sound here, one that draws on the more straightforward lounge-pop of their debut, SYMPATHIQUE, and the mellowness of '60s and '70s pop. SPLENDOR IN THE GRASS' first half is especially smooth, opening with the beautifully soft Neapolitan ballad "Ninna Nanna" and the title track, on which Forbes sings "I think we should take it slow" over swooping strings, brass, and piano that resurrect ...

| | Rob Zombie Past, Present & Future CD (2003) With DVD; Digipak
Mixtress
$10.79 Rob Zombie has aptly carried the torch lit by the shock-rock pioneers of the 1970s. Sporting a vocal style that bellows (think Chuck Billy of Testament) and razor-cuts (think James Hetfield of Metallica), Zombie possesses a creepy yet futuristic swagger seldom seen in hard rock music.
PAST, PRESENT & FUTURE is an education in the legacy of the once-struggling, underground ...
