Assemblage 23 Storm Songs Storm Music Review Average Rating: (3.8 out of 5 stars) Addictive,, Enchanting, Entrancing... This A23 release sounds like a cross between Depeche Mode, Camouflage and Cause & Effect with more a trance beat. If you like those bands, you will enjoy this CD. Not must diversity track-to-track though. I especially enjoy Track #3. Submitted by realsoda (Newport Beach, CA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 1 found this helpful.
This album should have been titled Failure I just got this CD a few weeks ago and I gave it a long chance to grow on me. I love all of his other CD's and all the many remixes but this one? It just seems rushed and not very well put together. Maybe it's because I prefer A23's darker stuff but this one seemed more like elevator music to me.
Not what I would have expected from and artist who up till now seemed to be growing. Submitted by Negative (Houston, Texas) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
I can dig it I really enjoyed this album.it's not quite as good as "Defiance" or "Failure",but it has its moments.Standout tracks would have to be "Skin","You haven't earned it" and "30kft".I wouldn't listen to "30kft",on a cross-country flight either.but Tom really knows how to make great music.Recommended Submitted by John (Asheville,NC) Was This Review Helpful? A Cd that will grow on you I am a fairly new Assemblage 23 fan, but I have to say this cd has become one of my favorites. I hear it is Tom Shear's best cd so far and I would have to agree. Storm is more upbeat with a positive spin that really leaves you thinking. I love listening to this guys lyrics. Very deep and thought provoking. Stop reading this cd and go buy it! Able to be listened to. I give it a 3 and a half for real but I kinda can't give the half points but anyways, I loved the crap out of Defiance and I was looking forward to this cd surpassing it..fat chance, it's a step down for them but it's still pretty good. Check out Human, Let the Wind Erase Me, You Haven't Earned It, and 30kft(this is one of the most depressing songs I've ever heard). I'd suggest you all try out Defiance, much better. Laters. Storm
$13.89 Spring Heel Jack's seventh album starts out with one of the catchiest things they've ever done; the infectious "Rachel Point." It's got a driving groove that just gets under your skin in the right kind of way; it's so good that it almost stops you from digging deeper into this disc for the rest of its treasures. And yes, there's gold in them thar hills.
Plainly more accessible than their previous ODDITIES, this disc still has Spring Heel Jack's trademark love of dense textures and all things outre. With John Surman on bass clarinet, the band comes across like Jon Hassel and Josef Zawinul playing Gershwin. Spring Heel Jack use a little more distortion in their ...

This is a hybrid Super Audio CD playable on both regular and Super Audio CD players.
The work of European composer Karl Jenkins, the Adiemus debut SONGS OF SANCTUARY is one of those late 20th century musical triumphs whose success came, oddly enough, through a Delta Airlines TV commercial in which the track "Adiemus" was featured. The exposure resulted in hefty sales for this initial Adiemus collection and ensured further releases.
The music is grounded in Western classical structure but features a vocal technique drawn from Africa and executed exuberantly by a chorus of young children as well as the South African singer Miriam Stockley. Aside from the occasional line of Latin, there are few lyrics. Rather, the vocalists recite phonetic sounds, resulting in an album that can be understood and appreciated by many.
Remastered Super Audio (hybrid) CD edition of 1995 album for ethno-classical project of composer/conductor Karl Jenkins (Soft Machine). Nine tracks featuring Miriam Stockley on vocals & The London Philharmonic. Will play on CD & SACD players. ...
| | Simon Cooper Music For Mother & Baby CD (2003)
Storm
$13.25 The third volume of Simon Cooper's MUSIC FOR MOTHER AND BABY includes many of the lush, sparkling synthesizer patterns of the previous MOTHER AND BABY volumes, but the emphasis this time around is on the sounds of nature. Whether it is a beating heart, the sound of raindrops, a chorus of twittering birds, or the gentle sounds of wind and rushing water, Cooper intersperses these evocative samples artfully into his wide swaths of ...
| | Killswitch Engage End Of Heartache CD (2004)
Storm
$10.59 On Killswitch Engage's previous two albums, the group delivered the sort of passionate speed/thrash rarely heard since RIDE THE LIGHTNING-era Metallica and REIGN IN BLOOD-era Slayer. With THE END OF THE HEARTACHE, which features new singer Howard Jones, the band takes its signature sound to a new, absolutely ferocious level, combining slicing, neo-classical guitar riffs with vocals that alternate between gut-wrenching death-metal grunts and melodic crooning. In addition, drummer Justin Foley seems to have channeled both Metallica's Lars Ulrich and Pantera's Vinnie Paul, adding enough pummeling double-kick madness to put a smile on any old-school metal-head's face. Though the album's wide-screen production values keep it from ever sounding too retro, THE END OF HEARTACHE will appeal to anyone pining for the '80s glory days when serious metal was synonymous with long ...
