wilson phillips - better then ever!
great songs. made them their own. great production. voices sound incredible. i don't get the few dweebs who have dissed this record. even if you don't like wilson phillips or pop music altogether - this record is incredible. don't worry though - you are in the extreme minority. this album is hugely popular and will sell millions.
everyone wants to know where the new album of original material is? cool your jets! it's coming. columbia wanted to re-introduce the girls with this concept album so a new generation could get acquainted with their incredible sound. if you can read - then you would know that they have been writing a new album with original material that will be out as soon as you can say "multi-platinum" and "grammy nominee" for best vocal for this new cover concept album.
congratulations girls. it's great to have you back and to hear you remarkable voices on the airwaves once again. i will be sure to go out and buy another copy of 'california' for a friend tomorrow

GOODTIME MUSIC, LOTS OF FUN!
"California" is a wonderful album. All of the songs are well-arranged, and the vocal harmonies are superb. Peter Asher's production is top-knotch as well. The best tracks on the collection, in my opinion, are "Already Gone" (both the electric and accoustic versions), "Old Man," and "Go Your own Way." Only two of the tracks are disappointing: the too-fast arrangement of "Monday Monday" and "Dance Dance Dance," which as a Beach Boys classic is great, but as a cover version by Wilson Phillips just goes nowhere. Hopefully this album is a preview of things to come for Wilson Phillips and lots of new material from the trio in the future. BUY THIS ONE! It is not really art, but it is good, fun music! Well-done, at that!
