| | Isaac Hayes Hot Buttered Soul CD (1969) Bonus Tracks; Anniversary Edition; Remastered
One Rhythm CD music
$9.58 This is a hybrid Super Audio CD playable on both regular and Super Audio CD players.
A staff songwriter with the legendary Stax label, Isaac Hayes, with partner David Porter, composed material for many of the company's artists, including Sam And Dave, Carla Thomas and Johnnie Taylor. Frustrated with this backroom role, he began recording in his own right, and with Hot Buttered Soul, redefined the notion of soul music. Although the tracks were lengthy, there was no sense of self-indulgence, each one evolving over sensual rhythms and taut arrangements. Hayes' vocal anticipated the 'rap' genre of Barry White and Millie Jackson without slipping into self-parody, lending an air of sophistication to a highly influential collection.

| | Pink Funhouse CD (2008) Explicit
One Rhythm music CDs
$15.29 Pink's insistently hooky, attitude-filled pop-rock has kept the singer a fixture on the radio and on singles charts since the early 2000s. The artist's fifth effort, FUNHOUSE, doesn't tamper with the formula: Pink's powerhouse vocals and in-your-face approach, backed by stadium-sized production, are in full effect on all 12 tracks. Even though the album deals primarily with aftermath of her divorce and includes serious moments of self-confrontation like "Sober," fans needn't worry that Pink has lost any of her chutzpah.
If anything, there's an increased sense of confidence and newfound liberation on tracks like the chest-thumping "So What" and the mischievous, bouncing "Bad Influence." In softer moments, like the ballad "I Don't Believe You" and the soulful "One Wrong Foot," Pink channels her personal experience into expressions that carry no less strength or muscle. But FUNHOUSE is a pop album first and foremost, and its catchy choruses, rollicking beats, and memorable vocal performances won't disappoint.
Arrangers: Stevie Blacke; Ulf Janson; Henrik Janson.

$13.15 Phillip Anderson, AKA Dr. Pheel Good, has always had a passion for music. Growing up in Buffalo NY, he has been singing since the age of five. Although at age five, his audience was the church congregation. However, the love and support he received encouraged him to use his talent to inspire others. Even as a young boy his emotions showed when he sang, this touched the heart of people who heard him. Phillip was inspired early on by Stevie Wonder. Determined to sing and be heard, he sang in the church choir and sang in a boys vocal group called Voices From Heaven. Performing with this group allowed him many opportunities to perform at various churches, Gospel Festivals and even a local television morning show.Phillip spent a lot of time listening to music, he even taught himself to play the piano by ear. His mentor at the time, Evertte Benton worked with and encouraged him to practice in his free time. After relocating to Denver with his family in 1996, Phillip right away joined the church choir and became involved with the chorus in high school. Phillip's deep appreciation for music helped to foster and form the style of music he performs today. He is currently lead singer for the band The Atomic Brass Project. The band has had the opportunity to perform at many clubs and outdoor festivals in the Denver, Colorado area. Being a part of "ABP" has allowed Phillip to cover some of his favorite artists including Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles and Earth, Wind and Fire. Phillip's determination lead him to compete for American Idol where he made it through to the Hollywood rounds on two occasions. The experience of competition has made him more determined and focused on pursing his career as a solo artist. In his first solo project Phillip has been able to combine the sound of R&B and Hip Hop to create a sound that is fresh and commands the perfect dance moves for clubbers. Phillip, along ...
