Inspired by the birth of her son Rene-Charles, Celine Dion reached out to famed baby photographer Anne Geddes to collaborate on MIRACLE, a collection of lush songs performed by Dion, accompanied by the charming infant photographs of Geddes. ... Full DescriptionThe French-Canadian songbird pours herself into a bilingual rendition of "Brahms' Lullaby," along with a gentle version of "What a Wonderful World," and a lighter-than-air take on John Lennon's "Beautiful Boy."
As precious as the babies presented in the artwork are Dion's cover of Ewan MacColl's timeless "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" (best known as a Roberta Flack staple) and a sprightly interpretation of Henri Salvador's "Le Loup, La Biche et le Chevalier (Une Chanson Douce)." The Geddes-designed booklet is as sumptuous as the music, and amid its 19 pages are images of Dion posing with newborns in costumes made up to look like various flowers, including roses, lotuses, and orchids. Those wishing to indulge in a more expansive version of this project are directed to a separate set made up of the album, a "making of" DVD, and a coffee-table book.
Personnel: Celine Dion (vocals); Dean Parks (guitar); David Foster , Jochem Van Der Saag (keyboards); Rafael Padilla (percussion); Richard Page (background vocals).
Recording information: Chartmaker Studios, Malibu, California; Digital Insights Recording, Las Vegas, Nevada.

Miracle music CDs
$8.39 The perennial Canadian chanteuse returns to the limelight with this snappy collection of contemporary pop in the vein of Cher's renaissance material, including the car-commercial-associated "I Drove All Night," and "Je T'Aime Encore," which is not, as you might assume, a remake of Serge Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin's late-'60s sheet-ripping heavy-breather, but a sensitive acoustic exploration of lost love. Dion ventures into Britney territory with "Love Is All We Need," which is somewhat under the influence of Prince's "When Doves Cry," and she seems quite at home with the anthemic pure pop of the title track. However, it's the ballads, such as the sensitive, percolating "Stand By Your Side," ...

Miracle songs

"Don't Know Why" won the 2003 Grammy Awards for Record Of The Year, Song Of The Year and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.
Arif Mardin won the 2003 Grammy Award for Producer Of The Year (Non-Classical).
This is a hybrid Super Audio CD playable on both regular and Super Audio CD players.
A direct descendant from the pedigree of one of the 20th century's virtuosos, Norah Jones might not be on such a lofty artistic level as her dad Ravi Shankar, but certainly inherited some musical intuition from him. With nary a sitar nor raga within earshot, the young newcomer sounds very much an assimilated, western, 21st century pop-jazz singer. One thing that separates her from the pack is Ms. Jones' own piano stylings--not flashy, but deftly doubling or echoing her voice--that discreetly act as the glue holding together these airy, delicate, and beautiful arrangements.
But the centerpiece is certainly the 22-year-old's confident-beyond-her-years vocal delivery in addition to a precise diction and velvety tone. ...
