Hide Description Once Music Review Average Rating: (4.6 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews The best rock album I've heard in many years I first found out about Nightwish while listening to a Music channel on Digital Cable. I heard the song come on, and I literally dropped what I was doing to see what the song was, and who performed it. Turns out, it was "Nemo" from Nightwish's "Once" album.
This album features a fantastic mixture of metal rhythms, exhilatering guitar riffs and stunning vocals with quite poignant lyrics that seem to have religious undertones.
I love this album. I would highly recommend it to anyone even remotely interested in Nightwish, I believe it's their best album. Submitted by invincible_irvine (Irvine, California) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 2 of 3 found this helpful.

Max Creativity Wonderfully creative combination of Symphony, Opera, and Metal. Well written songs with a good variety from very hard to soft and soulful.
Big productions with, obviously, a lot of thought, effort, and sweat. Well played, beautifully sung, and produced and mixed with the best! Submitted by garyh (Wichita, KS, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Once album
$12.59 Representing a classic case of delayed fame, Italian goth-metal act Lacuna Coil broke into the American music consciousness via a much talked-about showing on the Ozzfest 2004 second stage, nearly two years after the release of their third album, COMALIES. Similar to its American counterparts Evanescence, this European sextet features the dual vocals of Cristina Scabbia and her male counterpart, Andrea Ferro. Despite the liberal amounts of keyboards added to the mix, guitarists Cristiano Migliore and Marco Biazzi more than hold their own, pumping choppy riffs into the 1980s-sounding "Self Deception" and the simmering opener "Swamped." What makes Lacuna Coil so unique in an often musically conservative genre is the band's ability to dabble with ethereal dynamics. Such is the case with the soaring title ...

$9.59 Drummer Matt McDonough and bassist Ryan Martinie play as if they are the same person, tossing off impossibly complex lock-step riffs ("Determined," "Just") like most bands hit an open E chord. On "Happy?" and "Fall into Sleep," singer Chad Gray moves from a throat-shredding rasp to sweet melodicism at the drop of a hat, taking angst-filled lyrics to new heights of dark obsession. Luckily, despite the ...

Once CD music
$18.35 Finland's Nightwish are widely hailed as progenitors of the symphonic metal style. With DARK PASSION PLAY (the group's sixth full-length), Nightwish introduce their new vocalist, Swedish-born Anette Olzon, to the fold. While Olzon proves to be a more than capable operatic siren, Marco Hietala's vocals are far more prominently featured than on past Nightwish efforts, giving the album a double shot of vocal operatics.
Nightwish: Anette Olzon (vocals); Tuomas Holopainen (keyboards); Marco Hietala (bass guitar); Jukka Nevalainen (drums).
Additional personnel: Joanna Forbes, Tommy Blaize, Heather Cairncross, Derek Green, Tom Pearce, Eliza Lumley, Anne Marie Cullum, Helen Brookes, Sam Burkey, Ann De Renais, Morag MacKay, Rosemary Forbes-Butler, Sarah Ryan, Charlie Baker, Bob J.
