Several tracks on STILL NOT GETTING ANY?, however, find the band expanding its sound to incorporate a more pronounced mainstream rock influence. "Me Against the World" is driven by an energetic rhythm section and burly guitars reminiscent of KISS and Cheap Trick. "Crazy" and "Everytime" are full-on anthemic tracks that lean towards the sounds of Hoobastank. Though the lyrics of many songs still concern themselves with the classic theme of teen angst, the snotty vocal stylings are toned down considerably, giving the disc a more mature and serious edge. At once even catchier and more substantial than Simple Plan's debut, STILL NOT GETTING ANY? shows the band growing in step with its audience.
Punk rock, platinum poster boys Simple Plan are at it again - making music, that is. The dualdisc includes 8 audio tracks and a music video with 5.1 Surround Sound/DVD-A.

Simple Plan have a reputation for being the whining little kids of pop-punk music, and if you listen to "No Pads..." there's little choice but to agree. However, the work here is better. Aside from the first two tracks, "Shut Up" and "Welcome to My Life," there is a much more mature tone to this album. Also, the band is ever so slowly exploring new sounds with their instruments and vocals, such as with the use of true duets(shockingly uncommon these days). There's still some no-ingenuity pop-punk formula here, most notably on "Thank You." The high points of this album are probably tracks 5 and 6, "Me Against the World" and "Crazy." "Me" has some pretty standard snotty lyrics but the voice sound and backing instrumentals sound different from what this band has offered in the past. And "Crazy" offers a pretty tight social commentary. Who'd have thunk it? This album still has a few faults, as "Shut Up," "Welcome to My Life," and "One" make we want to tell this band to go suck their pacifiers, but there's some huge redeeming material here. Worth a pickup for the pop-punk fan, and a good deal better than this band's first album.

Simple Plan IS a great band and it really shows with this CD. This CD is Brilliantly put together. I enjoy listening to it occasionally. I Love ALL songs EXCEPT for " Untitled", It's too soft although it means well since it was for their friend who died in an Alcohol related car accident. Well Done Guys!
