Prima's distinctive sound encompassed New Orleans-style jazz, boogie-woogie, jump blues, R&B, early rock 'n roll, and even the occasional Italian tarantella. Regardless of what form his music took, it swung hard and fast, with a rolling, up-tempo shuffle Louis Prima Boogie Woogie Songs | 1. | Pennies From Heaven | |

Boogie Woogie
$11.99 Free emerged from the British blues boom with a tight, muscular style that framed Paul Rodgers' throaty voice. Guitarist Paul Kossoff provides the perfect foil with incisive, measured solos exemplified by his contribution to "All Right Now." This successful single transformed the group from club to festival status. Free's unhurried, careful intensity is captured perfectly on the album's title track and "Oh I Wept," two songs charged with emotion. Where many contemporaries tended towards excess, Free implied a resonant power, particularly ...
| | Creedence Clearwater Revival Concert CD (1969) SACD Hybrid; 40th Anniversary Edition
Boogie Woogie
$15.19 Digitally remastered utilizing the 20-Bit K2 Super Coding System by Shigeo Miyamoto (JVC Studios).
This is a hybrid Super Audio CD playable on both regular and Super Audio CD players.
Creedence Clearwater Revival is widely regarded as one of the most electric and exhilarating live rock & roll acts of all-time, and 1980's THE CONCERT is one of rock's finest live albums. Originally released as LIVE AT THE ALBERT HALL 1970, the album was quickly recalled and re-titled THE CONCERT when it became known that the concert was in fact recorded live at the Oakland Coliseum in California, not at England's famous Albert Hall. Nonetheless, you couldn't ask for more from a live Creedence disc--at nearly an hour in length, it represents all of the hits (as well as a few key album tracks), and the selections all shine in a live setting.
An opening rendition of the swamp-rock classic "Born on the Bayou" shows the band slowing the tempo a bit, creating a killer groove in the process. Soon you realize how many timeless classics John Fogerty and company created--"Green River," "Who'll Stop the Rain," "Proud Mary," and "Down on the Corner" are all prime CCR. In a live setting, the anti-Vietnam "Fortunate Son" is even more venomous ...
| | Alan Parsons Project - Turn Of A Friendly Card (2004)
Boogie Woogie
$18.39 With TURN OF A FRIENDLY CARD, Alan Parsons has furthered his bid for mainstream success by combining his lush, synthesized art rock with memorable melodies. In fact, two of the album's songs--the infectious, pulsing "Games People Play" and the dreamily ...

| | Best Of Little Feat CD (2006) Remastered
Boogie Woogie
$10.79 While it's easy to think of Little Feat as nothing more than a typical Southern-fried 1970s boogie band, they are in fact a case study in what happens to a musical stew that sits in the sun of downtown L.A. for a little too long. Little Feat combined divergent pop styles--from funk and R&B to country and rock--and funneled them through a smog-baked, drugged-out style distinctly its own. Rhino's 17-track BEST OF (the first single-disc retrospective of the band) tracks the entirety of Little Feat's 20-year-plus career, featuring tracks from the band's Lowell George-led ...
| | Warren Zevon Excitable Boy CD (1978) Bonus Tracks; Remastered
Boogie Woogie
$14.15 The terrain is unsettling, bizarre and often soaked with blood. Stalking across the landscape are pina colada-sipping werewolves, headless mercenaries, and desperate gamblers. That the sound and overall musical mood of the record is upbeat underscores Zevon's ability to attach a winning melody to a gallow's tale. The home runs are the instantly memorable "Werewolves of London," the murderous glee of "Excitable Boy," and the affecting "Accidentally Like a Martyr." The inclusion of obvious filler cuts detract from the overall focus of the record but that is a small complaint. After all, it takes a special man to turn a tale of rape and murder into a cheery singalong.
"Excitable Boy", originally released in ’83 and produced by Jackson Browne and Waddy Wachtel, hit #8 on Billboard®’s Pop albums chart and made Zevon a star. Includes the essential signature songs “Werewolves Of London”, a #21 hit single and “Lawyers, Guns And Money.” Also features “Roland The Headless Thompson Gunner,” “Excitable Boy,” “Accidentally Like A Martyr,” and other Zevon classics. Four previously unissued bonus treasures include an alternate version of “Werewolves,” a solo piano version of “Tule’s Blues,” and an outtake of “I Need A Truck.” In-depth liner notes by Rolling Stone writer David Fricke.
Warren Zevon came roaring out of the '70s touchy-feely California singer-songwriter gene pool with one hand on the piano and the other ...

Boogie Woogie
$13.59 THIRD GENERATION BLUES was nominated for the 2000 Grammy Award for Best Traditional Folk Album.
