Three Chicano brothers from Texas--Henry, Jojo, and Ringo Garza--make up the roots rock trio Los Lonely Boys. Touted as "Willie Nelson's favorite local band," the Lonely Boys accordingly spend much of their first album working their own variant on American musical traditions. Their blend of rock, blues, and soul is as full of references to their influences as it is teeming with youthful energy. Henry Garza strikes up an extremely Stevie Ray Vaughan-like guitar tone on the bluesy shuffle of "Crazy Dream" (in fact, Vaughan's keyboardist Reese Wynans is a guest on the album).
The lengthy near-instrumental "Onda," with its lyrical-but-biting guitar, Ringo's Latin percussion, and Wynans's rich organ, seems to be an homage to vintage Santana, and the band shows off its vocal harmonies on the old-school soul ballad "More Than Love." If Los Lobos were a couple of decades younger and hailed from Texas instead of California, they might sound quite a bit like Los Lonely Boys.
This special edition will contain a slipcover of brand new cover art. The package contains a bonus DVD with exclusive footage. Additionally the CD will contain more previously unreleased bonus tracks.
Los Lonely Boys: Henry Garza (vocals, guitar); JoJo Garza (vocals, bass guitar); Ringo Garza (vocals, drums).
Additional personnel: John Porter, Willie Nelson (acoustic guitar); Reese Wynans (piano, organ); Diego Simmons (percussion).

Los Lonely Boys Music Review Average Rating: (4.3 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews An Apology And Some Greatness For Sure !!!!! To Frank in Ridgefield, Ct., please accept my apologies for ranting on your review of this great cd. I did read to quick and did not understand your review. Los Lonely Boys are something to behold in concert. Though I haven't seen them live, I did recently get their Live From Austin, Tx. dvd. It's excellent to say the least. Check out the kazoo playing the trio does on one song from the dvd. Now if they'll put out their Live At The Fillmore on dvd that ought to ice the cake.
Again my apologies to Frank in Ridgefield, Ct. Maybe we will run across each other at an LLB concert sometime in the future. Los Lonely Boys rock !!!!! Submitted by Behr Brown (Okieland, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
PAY ATTENTION BEFORE YOU SPEAK To the most recent reviewer below this one; try reading and understanding something before you give your opinion on it. I gave Los Lonely Boys a GLOWING, positive review. I LOVE them, think they're great, and oh yeah, I've seen them live FOUR times in the past six months. But all you saw was "Boyz To Men" and didn't bother reading and understanding my review before launching into your little rant. Are you too stupid to realize that I totally dig these guys and gave them a great review? Next time, pay attention and think before you speak! No Ifs, Ands or Buts, Period. End Of Story!!!!! First things first. The fellow reviewer who had the insane/inane idiocy to compare Los Lonely Boys with Boys To Men should cut his writing hand off. Apparently he's never seen them and only listened to this project from the boys, because it was loaned to him. He never thought about purchasing it at all.
Now to review. I have this cd. It took a few times listening before it connected, but Los Lonely Boys far exceed Boys to Men (their not even brothers) vocally by a longgggggg shot, amigos. Their version of the late, great Mr. Johnny Cash's "I Walk The Line" (I'm sure) would have made Johnny smile with a thumbs up on both hands. The rest of the cd is immaculently superb in all aspects. I have their live dvd "Live From Austin" and it shows quite well how they (la familia trio) can work their never ending pure energy and talent, lyrically and instrumentally for the audience. So if your needing a new road disc for your cd player, get this album. I highly recommend it for your collection. Sorry about the first part of this. Boys To Men my ass. Just had to vent, ya' dig ? Viya Con Dios mi amigos. Submitted by Behr Brown (Okieland, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
TALENTED MEXICAN GROUP!!! THESE ARE SOME TALENTED MEXICAN ARTISTS!BUY THIS ALBUM IMMEDIATLY! Submitted by ROBERT (H-TOWN,TEXAS) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
THIS MUSIC SHOULDN'T WORK, BUT IT DOES!! Take "Boyz II Men" vocal harmonies and slap them on top of Tex-Mex blues riffs, and the end result should sound awful, and just should NOT work. But the Los Lonely Boys do just that, and they make it work big time! I never would think that light, poppy, harmonized vocal melodies on top of gritty, slammin', muscular blues riffs would ever sound right, but somehow, these guys pull it off. You can hear their influences all over the place (especially Santana, Richie Valens, and Stevie Ray Vaughan), but so what, EVERYONE has their influences. The songs are very catchy (you'll find yourself humming along to most of them), and the playing is very impressive. And the vocals sung in Spanish sound so cool! Definitely check these guys out; this is one of the best CD's to come out in years! Submitted by Frank (Ridgefield, CT) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Los Lonely Boys
$6.39 This audio document of The Corrs' Dublin homecoming concert has pretty much everything fans of Irish pop could wish for, including an appearance from Bono in his earthly incarnation, fresh from an audience with President George W. Bush. It's to the band's credit that the charismatic singer fails to steal the show, despite creditable efforts via an anthemized version of Ryan Adams' beautifully downtempo "When the Stars Go Blue," and a great, leering rendition of Lee Hazlewood and Nancy Sinatra's "Summer Wine."

| | David Gilmour About Face CD (1984) Remastered
Los Lonely Boys
$7.59 Combining layered vocals with a heavily looped guitar sound, "Until We Sleep" begins ABOUT FACE with an almost Byrds-like quality, while the gentleness of the acoustic opening to the ballad "Murder" disguises its homicidal subject matter. Both "Love On the Air," and "All Lovers are Deranged," are distinguished by lyrics written by Pete Townshend, and "Blue Light" is an attempt at funk with a Floydian flavor. Gilmour's strength at ballad writing is evidenced ...
| | David Gilmour CD (1978) Remastered
Los Lonely Boys
$6.79 Before David Gilmour virtually "became" Pink Floyd he was always the most likely member of the band (with the possible exception of de-facto leader Roger Waters) to release a solo album. 1978's welcome eponymous debut showcased his multi-faceted performing talents.
The album opener "Mihalis" is an ANIMALS period instrumental, which, along with "Raise My Rent," sounds like an outtake from that album. The beautiful "There's No Way Out of Here" begins with a lonely harmonica and, with "No Way" and "I Can't Breathe Anymore," expounds the album's main theme of being trapped in an untenable situation. "Cry From the Streets" is a nod to the blues, while the lovely "So Far Away" harks back to the ballads of OBSCURED BY CLOUDS. Almost a missing mid-period Floyd album, this solo effort is a must-have for all Pink Floyd fans.
By the time of David Gilmour's solo debut, he had not only established himself several times over as an underrated, powerful guitarist in Pink Floyd, but as a remarkably emotional singer, his soothing approach perfectly suited to such songs as "Wish You Were Here." ...

| | Doors Soft Parade CD (1969) Gold; Remastered
Los Lonely Boys
$20.29 Dismissed by the benighted as the Doors' "pop album," SOFT PARADE is one of the band's most adventurous recordings, utilizing strings and horns without resorting to schlocky over-production and moving far beyond their blues roots. Morrison was fully into his shaman phase by 1969, and his obsession with that image is reflected in the proselytizing air of "Tell All the People," and of course "Shaman's Blues." The album's biggest hit "Touch Me," while easily the group's most radio-friendly offering, is a pop classic that ranks among the great ...

| | Clay Aiken Measure Of A Man CD (2003)
Los Lonely Boys
$8.99 A genuine pop culture phenomenon who unexpectedly transcended the instant fame granted by his second-place finish in the AMERICAN IDOL competition, Clay Aiken made a decidedly un-hip media figure, often looking and sounding more like George Bush's nerdy, Andrew Lloyd Weber-loving nephew than a sexy or dangerous rocker. Perhaps not surprisingly, Aiken (with the help of uber-producer/record-company mogul Clive Davis), has crafted what sounds like the first-ever secular contemporary Christian album.
With an utter lack of pretense and genuine feel-good vibe worthy of the best work of Newsong or Steven Curtis Chapman, MEASURE OF A MAN is a pristinely produced, relaxed-sounding showcase for Aiken's gorgeously clear and unaffected vocal style. On solid pop songs like "Shine" and the McCartney-esque "Perfect Day," the retiring Southern singer communicates his songs in a pure, direct fashion that, by virtue of its appealing simplicity, manages in short order to project more soul than a CD rack full of gut-busting Michael Bolton histrionics. A defining moment in the mainstream pop genre, MEASURE OF A MAN bridges the generation gap between teens and their parents with comforting consistency and a refreshing lack of flash.
Personnel: Clay Aiken (background vocals); Dan Warner (guitar, acoustic guitar, electric guitar); Andreas Carlsson (guitar, background vocals); Eric Bazilian, Borge Petersen-Overlier, Fridrik Karlsson, Tim Pierce, Eivind Aarset (guitar); Clif Magness (acoustic guitar, electric guitar, piano, keyboards, programming, background vocals); Rick Nowels (acoustic guitar, bouzouki, keyboards); Marcus Englof (acoustic guitar, keyboards, programming); Esbjern Ehrwall (acoustic guitar); Chris Glansdorp (cello); Doug Emery (piano, keyboards, programming); Samuel Waermo (keyboards, percussion, programming); David Siegel, Martin Sjolie, Greg Kurstin, Steve Mac, Dave Arch, Charles Judge (keyboards); Wayne Rodrigues (drums, programming); Tim Klaussen, Josh Freese, Lee Levin, Vinnie Colaiuta (drums); Frank Ricotti, ...
| | Xymox Farewell CD (2003)
Los Lonely Boys
$13.29 There was a time, back in the mid-'80s, when the name Clan of Xymox was spoken in the same breath as those of Cocteau Twins and Dead Can Dance, bands that epitomized a sort of ethereal pre-goth genre that was simultaneously soothing and challenging, and that inspired thousands (but not millions) of British and American teenagers to wear black lipstick and hide their eyes behind large and unsettling hairdos. Clan of Xymox never achieved the commercial success of Cocteau Twins or the critical success of Dead Can Dance, but unlike both of those bands, they're still making records. Their fourth album for the Metropolis label, Farewell, finds them continuing in a musical vein that the press materials describe, ...

| | G Tom Mac So Alive CD (2005)
Los Lonely Boys
$6.96 Odds are you've already heard G TOM MAC. Certainly once... maybe twice. His seminal ode to nocturnal night "Cry Little Sister" (in which he wrote and performed the title track from Director Joel Schumacher visionary movie THE LOST BOYS) still reigns as a perennial cult classic favorite. Recently the remix of "Cry Little Sister" topped the UK charts. His amazing diversity in music and songwriting caught the ears of prominent artists. His songs have been recorded by such artists as KISS ("Is That You"); Ice Cube ("Money Can't Buy The Love") Roger Daltrey (produced and wrote the album "Rocks In The Head"); Carly Simon ("Give Me All Night"); Phoebe Snow/Michael McDonald ("Right To The End"); and Vonda Shepard ("Wake Up The House") and so many others. Not to mention Hollywood's keen taste for his songs featured in films such as CHASING AMY; THE BANGER SISTERS; THE PLAYERS CLUB; FAST TIMES AT RIDGEMONT HIGH; ALL THE RIGHT MOVES; BORN TO BE WILD and TERMINATOR. G' songs continue to be widely used in several TV series including CHARMED; THE SHEILD; WITCHBLADE; FELICITY, THE WEST WING; X FILES and DAWSON'S CREEK. He's also recorded several solo albums, the most recent being G TOM MAC for L.A.'s Edge Artists, and BLUE RUE for Arc/Columbia several years back. He's currently preparing WITCHBLADE-THE MUSIC, a compilation of music from the cable-show including his own tracks.Cry ...
