Eminem's trademarked heavily syncopated sound provides an almost surreal sheen to the proceedings, and Em's voice graces the strong opening track, "Soldier Like Me (AKA The Return of the Soulja)." The guests run the gamut from 2Pac contemporaries Nate Dogg and members of the fallen rapper's crew, the Outlawz, to relative newcomers Jadakiss and G-Unit, but all performances are solid and requisitely reverent to the memory of Tupac Shakur. LOYAL TO THE GAME simply combines strong remaining lyrics of a late master with newer ones, and stands as one of the best posthumous 2Pac releases.

Dozens of posthumous releases have been culled from 2Pac's archives, both by his mother, Afeni Shakur, and by more dubious sources. Eight years after the conflicted poet/thug's death comes LOYAL TO THE GAME, featuring more untapped rhymes. These recordings are the latest unearthed by Ms. Shakur, and while it might be easy to dismiss yet another new collection, two things work in the album's favor. The tapes were handed over to hip-hop icon Eminem, providing a completely unique angle on 2Pac's rhymes. More importantly, while these offerings are late in coming, that is not to say 2Pac's mother is desperately peddling the dregs of his output; the lyrics on LOYAL TO THE GAME are razor-sharp.
Personnel: 2Pac (rap vocals); Ronald Isley, Sleepy Brown (vocals); Edi, Eminem, G-Unit, Jadakiss, Nate Dogg, Noble, Obie Trice, Big Syke (rap vocals).

Tupac Loyal To The Game Songs Loyal To The Game Music Review Average Rating: (3.8 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews What?!! I don't know why they let Eminem produce this album.G-G-G-G-G-Unit? Obie Trice? Elton John? Jadakiss? Come on now.If Pac was still alive, there's no way he would work with "John Boy" or those studio gangstas. The production should've been picked up where Better Dayz(a da*m good album!!) left off.The beats on this album, the first 13 anyway, carry the all too familiar mark of Slim Shady.Lack of instruments, simple booms and ticks, and the worse of all,his voice. The attempt to have Pac giving G-Unit and eminem shoutouts was a plain a** discrace.Pac's voice was sped up and slowed down to match Slim's A-B-C,1-2-3 beats.I gave this album a 5 because of the last 4 tracks.Producers Scott Storch,Red Spyda,Raphael Saadiq, and DJ Quik brought soul to this album that it should've had from the start. Most of us true Tupac fans consider the first 13 tracks a slap in the d*mn face.Only Pac's peers should have the right to remake his music.Only his peers should be spit'n on the tracks with him.Eminem,if they want you to do the next album,PLEASE DON'T!!!!G-G-G-G-G DO-NOT!!!! Loyal To The Game album
$14.85 Without need for filler or skits, the ultra-focused Nas has more than enough on his mind and in his rhyme arsenal to fill the two discs. He opens by raising Cain on false idols, first indicting both sides of the political spectrum on "Nazareth Savage," then scathingly tearing into Kobe Bryant and Puff Daddy (among others) on "These Are Our Heroes." Nas does a double shot of old-school rap, chronicling the life of Rakim on "U.B.R. (Unauthorized Biography of Rakim)" before nodding to Doug E. Fresh on "Virgo." Tying together this potent outing, Nas closes with a flurry of classic rhymes, on the grimy-yet-melodic bonus track, "Thief's Theme."
While Nas has never been one for false modesty, it must be quite the rush to include his father, jazz trumpeter Olu Dara, on his single "Bridging the Gap" to speak of his son becoming "the greatest man alive." While that's a tall order, Nas is indisputably among the premier lyricists and provocative thinkers in hip-hop history. The Queens, ...

Loyal To The Game CD music
$10.09 With TRAP MUZIK, Georgia rapper T.I. boldly established himself as a young rapper to watch and a sought-after guest artist. As if to cement his stardom, T.I. opens his third record, URBAN LEGEND, with one of the most famous declarations in the history of hip-hop, Run-DMC's "I'm the kiiiing," building the assured track ("Tha King") around a sleek "Hit It Run" sample. On that song, T.I. wanders around the rap iconography of the South, asserting himself the new leader and claiming that his ascendance came without the aid of major guest appearances on his previous album.
With URBAN LEGEND, however, the cast list is practically overwhelming (Trick Daddy, Lil' Kim, Lil Jon, Lil Wayne), but smartly, T.I. lets his own lyrical light shine until the seventh track, when Nelly comes in for the slick, Jazze Pha-produced ...

Loyal To The Game music CDs
$10.39 THE EMINEM SHOW was nominated for the 2003 Grammy Award for Album Of The
Year. "Without Me" was nominated for the 2003 Grammy Awards for Record Of The Year and Best Male Rap Solo Performance.
This deluxe limited edition includes a bonus DVD containing previously unreleased footage and interview with Eminem.
As one of the most controversial figures in hip-hop history, Eminem can be forgiven for being somewhat self-obsessed. THE EMINEM SHOW's opening cut "White America" sums up the notorious rapper's self-defense by keenly observing that while the color of his skin has something to do with his widespread popularity it's also the reason his lyrics are examined so scrupulously by critics who otherwise wouldn't bother. "I could be one of your kids" he proclaims, getting right to the heart of the matter. Despite the abundance of introspection, Eminem doesn't back up a single step on any of the themes that made him such a hot property. He's still into glorifying violence, as on "Soldier" one of the many cuts where he waves his broken-home/dysfunctional upbringing like a flag to justify the hatred that seeps from every pore of THE EMINEM SHOW.
Over the course of the album, he threatens to brutally murder so many members of his family that one begins to lose track, but this is just the kind of hard-ass image that's helped make him an icon. The aforementioned cut finds the former Marshall Mathers making one of his most telling statements; ...
| | Ludacris Red Light District CD (2004)
Loyal To The Game songs
$11.55 Ludacris opens with a wry rant on the industry, a common theme, but he uniquely combines the self-aware eye of a writer with the continually scheming nature of a hustler. It is said that when comic actors perform drama, they often excel at it, and Ludacris translates this to the music world. When he gets serious on the reflective "Child of the Night," he shines, honestly pondering both his life and the craziness of the world. However, the bulk of THE RED ...
| | Snoop Dogg R&G (Rhythm & Gangsta): The Masterpiece CD (2004)
Loyal To The Game album
$12.55 Easily Snoop's most diverse album, R&G slips from solidly street-oriented tracks to purely fun tunes, with moments both sensual and silly that add up to what's almost a concept record. Snoop has always been a master of squaring a mellow melody with his hardcore edge, but he reaches new heights on R&G, particularly on the Neptunes-assisted single "Drop It Like It's Hot" and the incredible early-1980s disco-soul sound of "Let's Get Blown." Snoop also reminds listeners just how hard he can hit on tracks like the relentless, chaotic "The Bidness" and ...

Loyal To The Game CD music
$10.49 After many twists and turns, the Game finally dropped the highly anticipated THE DOCUMENTARY as the first major hip-hop release of 2005, and it's quite an opening salvo. On the Kanye West-produced "Dreams," he displays a dizzying intellect, subtly working an apt quote from Nas into an imagined bi-coastal conference between Jam Master Jay and Eazy-E. (The track also invokes political figures ranging from Ronald Reagan to Huey Newton.) The Game's clearly been immersed in the rap world from an early age, and he tips his hat to both past masters and his contemporaries, many of whom appear on the record (Eminem, 50 Cent, Busta Rhymes, and others). THE DOCUMENTARY heralds a stunning new voice in rap by living up to its overwhelming ...

Loyal To The Game CD music
$14.89 Uzbekistan is a remarkable land. Landlocked with five or six other central Asian republics between Russia, China, India, Iran, and Turkey, it has managed to retain a distinctive identity. Its classical song form is instantly recognizable: an ensemble of lute(s), possibly fiddle and hammer dulcimer, and frame drums all playing at mid-tempo and all in the service of a quavery but powerful voice. Improvisation is not allowed and so there is none of the meandering quality that Middle Eastern or Indian music sometimes has.
Monajat Yultchieva is a disciplined mezzo-soprano, perhaps the top female classical singer of Uzbekistan. What she does is undeniably moving, but unfortunately she never gets out ...
