| | Chicago Love Songs CD Chicago Discography of CDs
(3 Customer Reviews)
One in a series of Rhino Records compilations featuring romantic music from superstar artists, Chicago's LOVE SONGS presents 18 tracks perfect for setting the proper mood. For some acts, selecting this many tunes relating to a single concept might result in a lot of filler. Chicago, however, has so many hits that the disc is still filled to the brim with must-have tracks. In addition to the power-chord-infused arena ballads "You're My Inspiration" and "Hard Habit to Break," the disc features older classics "Colour My World" (a piano-driven waltz) and the funky "Beginnings." The collection also includes a few surprises in the form of excellent live recordings, a particular standout being "After the Love Has Gone," an Earth, Wind & Fire performance featuring latter-day Chicago singer Bill Champlin on lead vocals. A great collection for Valentine's Day, LOVE SONGS is a fairly representative cross-section of Chicago's music, for any time of year.

| | Slayer World Painted Blood CD (2009)
Love Songs CD music
$10.39 Of the "big four" original thrash bands (the other three being Metallica, Anthrax, and Megadeth), Slayer was the least compromising and most consistent. As such, 2009's WORLD PAINTED BLOOD recalled more than the title of Slayer's 1986 masterpiece REIGN IN ...

It's always a sign that a group is hot if they release a holiday album mere months after their debut. That's the case with *NSYNC. Their debut was released in America in late March, and in early December, Home for Christmas hit the shelves. Much of the album is devoted to newer material, with only a handful of songs qualifying ...
| | Elvis Presley ELV1S: 30 # 1 Hits CD (2002) Remastered
Love Songs songs
$10.39 Includes liner notes Peter Guralnick and Ernst Mikael Jorgensen.
Commemorating the 25th anniversary of Elvis Presley's death, 30 #1 HITS presents a career-spanning serving of the King's chart-toppers.
Dating back to "Heartbreak Hotel" (which was inspired by a suicide note printed in the Miami Herald), most of these cuts have become indelibly etched into the fabric of pop culture and each has a unique story behind it. "Love Me Tender" has its origins in the Civil War ballad "Aura Lee," "It's Now Or Never" found Elvis Americanizing the Neapolitan ballad "O Sole Mio," and "Wooden Heart" likewise was converted from a German children's song.
This Memphis native's choice of artists to cover was equally intriguing and includes Hollywood legend Al Jolson ("Are You Lonesome Tonight?"), New Orleans soul shouter Smiley Lewis ("One Night"), blues great Big Mama Thornton ("Hound Dog"), and country titan Hank Snow ("[Now And Then There's] A Fool Such As I"). Further ...

| | Creedence Clearwater Revival Chronicle, Vol. 1 CD (1976)
Love Songs CD music
$10.45 Digitally remastered by Gary Hobish (1994, Fantasy Studios, Berkeley, California).
Digitally remastered by George Horn (Fantasy Studios, Berkeley, California).
Digitally remastered by George Horn (1995, Fantasy Studios, Berkeley, California).
Guided, perhaps, by musical snobbery or roots-rock phobia, some people inexplicably don't like Creedence Clearwater Revival. As the kings of earnest country-inflected rock in an age when radical stances were de rigueur, CCR sported straight-ahead tunes, and may have seemed a bit unhip. But their music stands the test of time with a vengeance. For the doubtful listener, this outstanding, 20-track hits collection has evidence of their greatness in staggering abundance.
Though they produced several excellent albums, Creedence was predominantly a singles band, and CHRONICLE compiles many of their biggest hits. From the slowly building saunter of "Suzie Q" and the spooky, R&B-soaked "I Put a Spell on You" to the fierce "Fortunate Son" ...
| | Daevid Allen Stroking The Tail Of The Bird CD (2000) Import; Remastered; Reissued
Love Songs music CDs
$14.35 A strictly ambient, drummerless set, 1990's Stroking the Tail of the Bird is like an hours' worth of purified essence of Gong, lacking the forced attempts at conceptual structure and bouts of prog rock noodling that littered the band's '70s albums. Recorded by Daevid Allen on his trademark glissando guitar with former Gong associates Harry Williamson on keyboards and Gilli Smyth on wordless "space whisper" vocals, these five lengthy tracks are ...

| | Joe Satriani Live In San Francisco CDs (2001)
Love Songs album
$16.19 "Always With Me, Always With You" was nominated for the 2002 Grammy Award for Best Rock Instrumental Performance.
For the two-disc LIVE IN SAN FRANCISCO, Joe Satriani takes a career-spanning tour of a back catalog dating back to his full-length 1986 debut NOT OF THIS EARTH. Aided and abetted by a trio of longtime supporting musicians led by fellow virtuoso and bassist extraordinaire Stu Hamm, Satch soars on longtime favorites like the furiously intense "One Big Rush," ludicrously speedy "Surfing With The Alien," and swaggering neo-funk of "Satch Boogie." Belying a reputation for fleet-fingered histrionics, Satriani uses this live outing to trade ...
