This soundtrack album to the popular television series DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES mixes original songs and cover versions by some of the hottest commercial talents of the 2000s, including Shania Twain, Joss Stone, and LeAnn Rimes. Fans of the show will appreciate the snippets of snappy dialogue interspersed throughout the track list, but the real treat is the songs (Twain's sassy "Shoes," for example, or Idina Menzel's "Damsel in Distress") and the interesting take on rock classics (like Liz Phair's revamp of the Rolling Stones' "Mother's Little Helper"). Danny Elfman's "Desperate Housewives Theme" rounds out this fun, star-packed set. For me Shania was great overall the album was easy listening with some great tracks. I can't wait for it to be released in the uk/europe

I can't say that I was duped into buying this album. I knew which artists were on it. But I can pretty much say, for my tastes, it is a half-great album. I am not a big country music fan, and the country songs on here are pretty twangy and old school. If that's your thing, then cool. But it's not really mine. The best songs for me were the tracks by Anna Nalick, Indigo Girls, Joss Stone, Gloria Estefan, Liz Phair and k.d. lang. So all things considered, if you like your pop/rock, with a nice dose of country, you'd be foolish not to get this CD. It has some knockout female vocal performances on here.

For anyone hasn't watched episodes of the Disney animated series PHINEAS AND FERB, it's highly recommended. It is a Saturday morning cartoon comedy that stars two irrepressibly inventive, multi-talented mischievous nerd geniuses (who happen to be stepbrothers), their vain, hyperactive, scheming sister Candace, and their pet platypus that happens to be a secret agent fighting an evil scientist.
