Morrissey has no qualms about catering to Smiths fans, opening the set with a faithful rendition of "How Soon Is Now?" Backed by a top-notch five-piece band that includes his longtime guitarist Boz Boorer, Moz runs through numerous album tracks and B-sides from QUARRY, along with Smiths classics and cover tunes. Morrissey's mid-tempo, reggae-tinged take on Patti Smith's "Redondo Beach" provides a nice change of pace in the energetic set, and later, a wonderfully dramatic version of the New York Dolls' "Subway Train" is paired in a medley with the rare track "Munich Air Disaster 1958." Throughout the concert, Moz is at his crooning best, proving that he can still work fans into a frenzy almost 20 years after his heyday with the Smiths.
Following his well-received 2004 comeback album, YOU ARE THE QUARRY, British rock icon Morrissey embarked on a lengthy tour. This live document presents the revered former Smiths singer performing at London's Earls Court in front of an adoring crowd of more than 17,000 people.

I can't be wrong all the time... I just can't be, it's impossible. Morrissey's voice has never sounded better. Although he sounded at his peak on Quarry, this live album shows just how fine tuned his voice has become. Compare this album with any from "The Smiths" to "Maladjusted". He is on top of his game. His Smiths classics are incredible as are older hits such as "Nevember Spawned A Monster" and "The More You Ignore Me...". This is a five star album, hands down. Can't wait for more from Moz! Not at Morrissey's best This isn't Morrissey's best live album. I like it well enough, but wouldn't reccomend it to others. The best song is a cover--that doesn't say too muchy for it. Moz's voice on "Quarry" was awesome...now I'm wondering if quite a bit of that was enhanced. He's getting old and this CD shows it. Plus I wish it was all one live cut--it's not. I like a live album that takes me through the show start to finish...one that makes me feel like I was actually there. Pimp My Album Live at Earls Court is like Pimp My Album. You are the Quarry gets juiced up and the songs have never sounded so great.
