Very Enjoyable
It's understandable that reviewers (and the Byrds themselves) have panned this album. It sounds more like CSN&Y than the Byrds. But that's not necessarily a bad thing. Gene Clark's "Full Circle" is an essential Byrds' song, and most of the rest is very enjoyable. Better songs and vocals than most latter day Byrds albums, but it could of used Clarence White's guitar here and there.

good album, unfortunate end
the byrds are possibly the most influencial american rock band ever, and they really only trail the stones and the beatles in relative glory. this is a fine album for true byrdfans, but as a stepping stone into the world of the byrds it is not recommended. this is the original lineup from 1965, and gene clark's compositions shine. I prefer the 1969-72 incarnation of the byrds, the band that was broken up to make way for this nugget. good album, but a sad way to end the beautiful flyght fof the byrds.

Byrds 1972 Reunion
it was so great to finally find this LP on CD. this originally did not receive much of a review but it was underrated. The instrumentation is so crisp and exciting. This reunion actually let all the original take time with their songs, not just McGuinn doing the majority or the work. It is well worth the purchase especially if you are a Byrds fan and/or a fan of that era music.

Gene Clark Was "The Byrds"
Although some will say that Roger McGuinn was the Byrds and I guess you could say that because he did assemble the Byrds but it was the real genius of Gene Clark behind The Byrds. Gene's vocals were superb and his writing talents were far above McGuinn. "Full Circle" the opening track on this disc really shines Gene's writing talent and many more after that. (And check out that mandolin solo by Chris Hillman on that track). Gene left the Byrds twice only because of his fear of flying and I believe there might have been some personal issues between him and McGuinn. Can't blame him on his flying issues. I do not care for flying either. R.I.P. Gene. You may be dead but you are not forgotten. I rest my case.
