On Theory of a Deadman's 2002 hit debut, the band combined the heavy riffs of nu-metal with a grunge-revival vocal style that often recalled Creed and Nickelback. The latter comparison makes sense, of course, as Nickelback singer Chad Kroeger ... Full Descriptionco-wrote many of the record's tunes, and Theory was the first signing to his 604 Records imprint. With GASOLINE, however, the band took Kroeger's well-developed melodic sense and ran with it, delivering a disc bristling with catchy tunes, unafraid to dispense with the grunge formula.
Like Stone Temple Pilots, Theory of a Deadman is a pop band at heart, often singing about love and relationships gone wrong over a wide variety of musical textures. "No Surprise" employs an old-school 1970s-rock shuffle beat, while "Hello Lonely (Walk Away from This)" is based on a funky syncopated chord progression reminiscent of Jeff Buckley's "Last Goodbye." "In the Middle" is a tuneful ballad that could almost pass for a Nashville country song in the hands of, say, Keith Urban. Other tracks feature slide guitar, strings, and a host of other production touches, all of which help make GASOLINE an unusually diverse and satisfying rock record.

It's very rare Im this pleased with a cd. This isn't one of those cd's with there's one or two good tracks, the whole cd is great. It's always with me, well worth it.

This follow up CD is great. Every song is good and this CD can just play for hours. Myself and I and Say Goodbye are the best 2 songs on the CD. I had bought it for No Suprise but this CD is way better than it's first single. There is a potential of 3 to 4 hits singles off this album if the record company will release them. Theory is here to stay and is awesome, great CD. It is a must own.

Granted, I'm not a "post-grunge" fan, but there are a few songs on this album that I did enjoy.
This album is mostly for fans of Nickelback though.

I love this band, they have many great skills which makes them a great band, awesome lyrics and music. The radios need to play them...I have heard them one time in the past 2 years.

This audio document of The Corrs' Dublin homecoming concert has pretty much everything fans of Irish pop could wish for, including an appearance from Bono in his earthly incarnation, fresh from an audience with President George W. Bush. It's to the band's credit that the charismatic singer fails to steal the show, despite creditable efforts via an anthemized version of Ryan Adams' beautifully downtempo "When the Stars Go Blue," and a great, leering rendition of Lee Hazlewood and Nancy Sinatra's "Summer Wine."
Somewhat more mysteriously, Rolling Stone Ron Wood also turns up on what sounds dangerously close to a lounge version of Jimi Hendrix's "Little Wing," but this minor faux pas is redeemed by the Irish folk medley "Joy of Life/Trout in the Bath" ...
