When Graham Nash casually added a high harmony to the song Stephen Stills and David Crosby were singing while sitting around at a friend's house, the beauty of the sound immediately struck all present. Consequently, one of the greatest and most enduring partnerships in popular music was formed. Not only did Crosby, Stills & Nash create some of the finest vocal-harmony arrangements of the late 1960s and early '70s, the group contained three hit folk-rock songwriters and, in Steven Stills, a world-class multi-instrumentalist.

The disc opens with "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes," an early tour de force that combines a percussive acoustic-guitar attack with unconventional song structure and singing that's alternately soulful and angelic. Other highlights include the fuzz-guitar-drenched "Wooden Ships" and the sunny pop of "Our House." GREATEST HITS comes as advertised, collecting many of the trio's best-known tracks from their classic albums, as well as charting singles from the 1982 comeback disc DAYLIGHT AGAIN ("Wasted on the Way," "Southern Cross").

A definative album by CS and N
Ive been waiting along time for a definative compilation of the cs and n hits and it has finally been released.Its a great album for a great price.The one complaint I have, is that it doesnt have Ohio or Woodstock otherwise its a great album.

Difficult to select tracks from their previous winners, but Graham Nash and Mr. Bernstein compliled a wonderful list of "19", wish it was double the number....

The Only Real Trio Of The 60's
I wish I could start out by giving this 10 stars. Now for the reviewer from Mexico City, on this cd we don't need no stinking Neil Young (Hold on, no offense to Neil,I like early Neil along with Crazy Horse) on this trail. They started as three and as the story/rumor goes Neil would do a part-time basis thang and it all worked out fine. So hence this excellent greatest recordings compilation. There are songs here that perked up my interest when I first read the titles of the tunes. Marakesh Express, 49 Bye Byes, Shadow Captain, and See The Changes are just a few here that were not in the Top 40 hit list. Go to the nearest cd store and purchase this for your collection. Good stuff here folks. Adios compadres.

CSN is probably one of my favorite bands ever, i also like CSNY and the members solo and duo-projects! This collection is drawn from 4 different albums from 69-82 and contains some of the groups best songs! If you are new to this group this is a great collection to start with since it contains almost all of their bestknown songs, but i would recommend you to buy all 4 records that these songs are taken from which is "Crosby, Stills and Nash" from 69, "Deja Vu" from 70 (this is actually a CSNY-record but the songs Neil is on is not on this collection), "CSN" from 77 and "Daylight again" from 82. All of these songs are good so i have to give this record a 5, but it`s better to buy all of the albums instead, except perhaps "Daylight again" because all of the good songs from that record are on this collection, but the other albums are great straight through!
