This is a DualDisc, which contains a CD on one side of the disc and a DVD on the other. In the tradition of singers such as Wanda Jackson and Tanya Tucker comes Gretchen Wilson, a self-proclaimed hard-living trailer-park inhabitant with ... Full Descriptioncountry-rock attitude to spare. The pleasant surprise with Wilson is that, in stark contrast to the streamlined country-pop of Shania Twain and Faith Hill, she doesn't mind getting a bit dirty (musically or otherwise). Though her grassroots ethos clearly plays into her success, it's not a pose: Wilson means what she says, and her country twang, mixed with roots and mainstream rock, packs a punch.
HERE FOR THE PARTY alternates between songs about rural, working-class nightlife (particularly Wilson's love of cowboys, whiskey, and, of course, country music) and its trials and tribulations (romantic heartache and spiritual struggle). The runaway single, "Redneck Woman," waves the banner of the "four-wheel-drive tailgate" and standing "barefoot in my own front yard with a baby on my hip." But where the anthemic choruses of songs such as "Here for the Party" are all bravado, "Holdin' You" and "The Bed" show the vulnerability of a dedicated and jilted lover, respectively. Wilson's range (listen to the gospel-derived "Chariot," complete with a mid-song rap) impresses, and adds to the appeal of a down-home girl that can rip up the honky-tonk and belt out a heartfelt ballad.
This Dualdisc includes the entire triple-Platinum album nomintaed for 4 Grammys. DVD features exclusive interview, music videos, acoustic peroformance, and duet with Hank Williams Jr.

In this dazzling epic from Akira Kurosawa, a petty thief named Kagemusha (Tatsuya Nakadai) gets saved from a death sentence because he resembles the warlord Shingen Takeda (also Nakadai). The warlord has been fighting two other leaders for control of 16th-century Japan and impersonators often take his place during battles to put him out of harm's way. Because of Kagemusha's strong physical similarities to the warlord, he's a perfect choice for a "shadow warrior." However, the arrangement suddenly changes when Shingen gets fatally wounded while watching a battle. Adhering to Shingen's final wish, the warlord's men keep the death a secret, and Kagemusha struggles to transform himself from a criminal into a leader.
KAGEMUSHA marked a welcome return for the legendary director, who had not made a movie since 1974. Nakadai, a supporting player in earlier Kurosawa films, expertly portrays the leading role(s), almost always filled in the past by Toshirô Mifune. KAGEMUSHA also features the final screen appearance of longtime Kurosawa actor, Takashi Shimura. In order to help the film get an international release, Francis Ford Coppola and George Lucas served as executive producers.

While Gretchen Wilson's highly successful debut, HERE FOR THE PARTY, was a redneck manifesto for how to have a good time, her 2005 follow-up, ALL JACKED UP, is the next day's eyeopener. Wilson still gets drunk and quarrelsome on the raucous opening title track, but most of this 2005 album is surprisingly low-key, as a number of gentle ballads rub elbows with rural-minded mid-tempo songs (most notably "Politically Uncorrect," featuring the legendary Merle Haggard). Although Wilson mostly sticks to no-frills working-class anthems, she also sneaks in a beautifully melancholy Billie Holiday-like take on the jazz standard "Good Morning Heartache" as a hidden bonus track, showing that this "Redneck Woman" has a charmingly unpredictable streak.
This dualdisc includes a CD side with the complte album including a hidden track, and the DVD includes the entire album in Enhanced LPCM stereo, music video, making of hte album documentary, including exclusive Gretchen interview, and photo gallery.
