| | Fall Fiend With A Violin CD Fall Discography of CDs
FIEND WITH A VIOLIN finds the Fall, one of the most raw yet arty and darkly sarcastic bands to emerge from northern England in the late 1970s, still at it. With an ever-changing line-up, this great post-punk band (happily) refuses to give up the ghost. FIEND WITH A VIOLIN collects various Fall tracks from the 1980s, including the rave-up "Spoilt Victorian Child" and the pensive, creepy "What You Need."
The Fall includes: Mark E. Smith (vocals).

Fiend With A Violin album
$19.10 Whereas Alice Cooper's first two studio albums, 1969's PRETTIES FOR YOU and 1970's EASY ACTION, tended more towards the trippy excesses of the hippie era, their next one, 1971's LOVE IT TO DEATH introduced the world to the heavy sound that Cooper would soon be taking to the top. With the invaluable production assistance of future Pink Floyd/Lou Reed cohort Bob Ezrin, LOVE IT TO DEATH proved Alice Cooper's first truly great album, ...
| | Joe Walsh Smoker You Drink, The Player You Get CD (1973) Gold
Fiend With A Violin CD music
$19.10 "Rocky Mountain Way," the tune that opens Joe Walsh's sophomore release (and remains one of his best-known songs), is a textbook example of Walsh's strengths. The song is driven by a slinky hard rock groove that boasts crunchy, distorted guitars, barrelhouse piano, wiry solos, and a catchy, singalong chorus--proving Walsh's penchant for mixing rock elements and radio-ready accessibility with a sense of wit and fun. The rest of SMOKER YOU DRINK, PLAYER YOU GET follows suit, with the mid-tempo rock ballad "Bookends," the bouncy, Latin-tinged "Happy Ways," and the airy, wistful ...
| | John Mayer Battle Studies CD (2009)
Fiend With A Violin music CDs
$12.95 It's no secret that John Mayer is a 21st Century Fox, wining and dining women all through tabloid headlines, so it's about time he delivered an album that traded upon his loverman persona -- and Battle Studies is that record in spades. Retaining more than a modicum of the slick, soul-blues undertones of Continuum, Mayer fashions a modern groove album, a record that maintains a smooth seductive vibe so thoroughly it spills into a one-man band cover of "Crossroads." Mayer remains somewhat of a disciple of Slowhand, but he shows an unusual interest in the big AOR stylings of Journeyman, along with Stevie Ray Vaughan's In Step, creating a coolly clean blend of synths and Strats, one that's as much about texture as it is about song.something perfectly appropriate for a make-out album like this. Sometimes, Mayer dips too heavily toward the texture, but he can't resist a good, tight melody and builds the bulk of Battle Studies upon them: the elegant "Half of My Heart," the softly soulful "Perfectly Lonely." Here, Mayer is effortlessly seductive and somewhat irresistible, and it's easy to see why the ladies love cool John. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine

| | Tom Petty Live Anthology CDs (2009)
Fiend With A Violin songs
$19.98 It's a commonly held opinion among fans and band alike that Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers' lone live album, 1986's Pack Up the Plantation, didn't quite capture the group at its peak, so there has been a long-standing need for another live set, which 2009's Live Anthology finally provides. Like its closest cousin, Bruce Springsteen's Live 1975-1985, Live Anthology almost overcompensates for the long wait by offering almost too much music, cherrypicking highlights from 1978 to 2007. In its simplest incarnation, Live Anthology is a super-affordable, four-disc box set running 48 tracks, which is eight cuts longer than Springsteen's box, plenty long enough for most fans, but in its deluxe version, available only through Best Buy, there's an additional ...

| | Beyonce I Am...Sasha Fierce CD (2008) (Import) Bonus Track; Deluxe Edition; United Kingdom
Fiend With A Violin CD music
$9.99 I AM. SASHA FIERCE represents another change of pace for Beyoncé. Unlike the relatively streamlined, retro-soul inflected B'DAY, I AM... is a sprawling two-disc set designed to reflect two conflicting sides of Beyoncé's musical personality. The first disc sports reflective, sometimes moody ballads, while the second, attributed to Beyoncé's brash alter ego, Sasha Fierce, is loaded with propulsive dance-floor fillers. Except for this stylistic divide, I AM. pays only nominal attention to its supposed concept, focusing instead on a set of excellent, radio-ready songs--neatly avoiding the possibility of I AM. becoming some sort of Chris Gaines-style conceptual disaster. Though the second disc, which boasts the synth-drenched lead single, "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)," is more immediately gratifying, the impeccably produced ballads of the first disc represent a vast improvement on the often awkward torch songs that weighed down Beyoncé's first solo record.
In non-Deluxe Edition form, Beyoncé's third solo studio album is as concise ...

$10.59 The story goes that a 17-year-old Bomb 20 contacted Digital Hardcore/Atari Teenage Riot leader Alec Empire and accused him of being too old and out of touch already. Bravado?
