| | Carl Perkins Rocks CD - Import Carl Perkins Discography of CDs
Incredibly, this is the first full career retrospective of Carl Perkins. This is the very best of the groundbreaking Sun recordings, the best of the late '50s/early '60s Columbia recordings, the cream of the ultra-rare Decca sides, and the later Columbia Carl Perkins Rocks Songs | 1. | Memphis in the Meantime |

| | Chickenfoot CD (2009) Digipak
Rocks CD music
$14.09 In true old-school "supergroup" fashion, Chickenfoot is a hard-rock dream team. Composed of vocalist Sammy Hagar (Montrose, Van Halen), bassist Michael Anthony (Van Halen), drummer Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), and guitar virtuoso Joe Satriani, the combo grew out of a few impromptu jams, but the combination was judged strong enough to record an album and go on tour. The resulting disc is a full-throttle, unapologetic rock record, brimming with the same party attitude and sense of fun that made Van Halen ...
| | Michael Jackson Invincible CD (2001)
Rocks music CDs
$10.89 "You Rock My World" was nominated for the 2002 Grammy Award for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance.
The question for a 42-year-old Michael Jackson heading towards the end of 2001 was whether or not the self-proclaimed King Of Pop could make his presence known on the charts after having spent much of the '90s laying low. If the chart-topping position achieved by INVINCIBLE is any indication, then the answer is a resounding yes. The album is primarily produced by Jersey wunderkind Rodney Jerkins, and Jacko wasted no time tapping other top-flight artists and knob-twirlers to help out, including Teddy Riley, Babyface and R.Kelly.
Michael pulls out all the stops here, whether peppering the opener "Unbreakable" with his trademark falsetto and a posthumous rap from the Notorious B.I.G, or recruiting guitar great Carlos Santana to contribute some tasty playing to the Latin slow-burn of "Whatever Happens." Elsewhere, comedian Chris Tucker contributes some high speed patter to the groove-heavy, piano-driven hit single "You Rock My World," while gospel superstar Andrae Crouch and his choir provide ...

| | Jacksons Destiny CD (1978) Bonus Tracks
Rocks CD music
$10.79 After DESTINY'S opening thumping baseline, funky guitar chords, and Michael Jackson's hiccuping "heeee-heee-heeee," there's only one sensible thing to do--blame it on the boogie. Or blame it on the Jacksons' 1978 platinum-selling album for being so damn good. The tenor of the times was finally right for the band, and everyone involved is on top form. With songs all written and produced by the Jacksons, the emphasis is on booty-shaking music with heart and real soul. Within a year Michael Jackson's OFF THE WALL album, on the charts for 52 weeks, would make him a force to be reckoned with. But on DESTINY, Michael's passion and desire is palpable, giving the album its real power and edge.
Besides "Blame it on the Boogie," DESTINY also features the disco-combustible "Shake Your Body (Down to the Ground)." Just about all the songs here are superlative, with standouts including Michael's delicately displayed anguish on the tender "Push Me Away," and the surprisingly poignant soul-searching "Destiny" which presciently foretells the situation the boys were soon to face as Michael's popularity soared.

| | Big Black Songs About Fucking (Happy Otter/Sad Otter) CD (1988)
Rocks music CDs
$11.69 From the opening "The Power Of Independent Trucking," a hopped-up crash course through the intersection of punk and industrial, Big Black takes no prisoners. A cover of Kraftwerk's "The Model" shows that no cow is too sacred for Albini, as does the disc's bonus track, a stunningly fuzzy cover of "He's A Whore," originally by fellow Chicago-ans, Cheap Trick. The clanging "Fish Fry" is a charming assault addressing the topic of murder at a drive-in. The band even provides its very own theme song, a 35-second bruiser called "Bombastic Intro." Rarely has a mere album been so brutal. SONGS ABOUT FUCKING can be cited as an indelible influence on the mid-to-late-'90s glut of techno-industrial bands.
SONGS ABOUT FUCKING, the last Big Black studio album, ups the aggression ante on almost every front. The music is more bombastic, the ...
| | Lester Bowie Fire This Time CD (1992)
Rocks songs
$11.65 Recorded live at the Moonwalker Club, Aarburg, Switzerland on May 1, 1992. Includes liner notes by Lester Bowie.
This warm and blistering set by Lester Bowie's 10-piece Brass Fantasy--four trumpets, two trombones, one French horn, a tuba, and two sets of percussion--was recorded live in Switzerland in 1992. The compositions, which are punctuated with graceful, occasionally humorous solos, touch on the full breadth of Bowie's and the ensemble's interests and skills. For instance, a pair of songs by Michael Jackson shows the ensemble's interest in contemporary pop. There're also Rahsaan Roland Kirk's "Three for the Festival" and Jimmie Lunceford's "Siesta for the Fiesta." "For Louis," by Phillip Wilson (to whom the album is dedicated) is another well-suited and finely executed piece. The show closes with "The Great Pretender," one of Brass Fantasy's signature numbers.
Originally recorded Live at the Moonwalker Club, Aarburg, Switzerland on May 1, 1992. The ensemble features Lester Bowie, E.J. Allen, Gerald Brazel, Tony Barrero (trumpet), ...
