Great Documentary of the Mamas and Papas
You may have caught an abridged version of this on your local PBS station. This historical documentary of the Mamas and Papas is primarily taken from Michelle Phillips' perspective, so the documentary steps over the fact that Michelle was once fired by the rest of the group and briefly replaced by Jan (Jan & Dean) Berry's girlfriend Jill Gibson. Other than such minor missing trivia, this DVD does a great job of allowing you to revisit, or meet for the first time, this glorious late 60s pop group.
The DVD is jammed packed with some of the groups best songs as well as some of their better obscurities (Dancing Bear, for example). There is also special focus on the Marvelous slol talent of Cass Elliott.
If you love 60s pop, this is a must have.

A must for all Mamas & Papas fans!
This is a superb DVD, which appears to contain all available footage and also informative commentary, etc. It is a considerable improvement on the "very best of" DVD previously available. Thoroughly recommended!
