Volumes 1 & 2
$17.57 Deluxe Edition
Personnel: Tom Araya (vocals); Jeff Hanneman, Kerry King (guitar); Dave Lombardo (drums). Audio Mixer: Greg Fidelman. Editor: Dan Monti. Photographer: Andrew Stewart. Of the "big four" original thrash bands (the other three being Metallica, Anthrax, and Megadeth), Slayer was the least compromising and most consistent. As such, 2009's WORLD PAINTED BLOOD recalled more than the title of Slayer's 1986 masterpiece REIGN IN BLOOD; it shared the earlier album's ferocious aggression and trademark speed metal-meets-hardcore sound. Throughout, the sound is lean and mean, with bassist/vocalist ...

The Very Best of Otis Redding wasn't the first Otis Redding compilation but it is the best of the single-disc collections, distilling the high points across his career (up thru the posthumous hits "(Sitting' On) The Dock of the Bay" and the heartbreaking "I've Got Dreams to Remember") in 16 tracks, every one ...

| | Calexico Spoke CD (1997)
Volumes 1 & 2
$12.25 1997 debut from dusty Tucson, AZ band. 19 lo-fi, earthy tracks ranging from 52 seconds to over 3 minutes. Definitely worth checking out! Quarterstick.
Calexico includes: Joey Burns (vocals, guitar, mandolin, cello, accordion, bass); John Convertino (guitar, accordion, vibraphone, marimba, drums); Tasha Bundy (drums). Personnel: Joey Burns (vocals, guitar, mandolin, cello, accordion); John Convertino (guitar, accordion, vibraphone, marimba, drums); Bridget Keating (violin). Audio Mixers: Joey Burns; John Convertino. Recording information: Tucson, AZ (11/20/1995-12/20/1995). While Calexico's 1997 debut album, SPOKE, contains strong hints of what was to come for the group, it clearly stands as an early point in their evolution. The hazy spaghetti-Western Mexicana that would later become so prevalent pops up at a few points here, ...
