Who bassist John Entwistle wasted no time in issuing his second solo release, WHISTLE RHYMES, just a year after his debut, SMASH YOUR HEAD AGAINST THE WALL. Whistle Rhymes album The follow up follows the same Who-like direction as its predecessor, with Entwistle tackling both vocal and bass duties. Of course, left to his own devices, he comes up with with a more macabre tone and grislier subject matter than with The Who.
If there was any doubt that Entwistle was one of rock's greatest bassists, his playing on WHISTLE RHYMES turns out to be a splendid showcase for his powerhouse skills. Highlights include the surprisingly melodic "Apron Strings," as well as the Who-ish album opener, "Ten Little Friends. " Out of all of Entwistle's solo releases, WHISTLE RHYMES is easily one of his finest.
The playfully-spelled Whistle Rhymes gives insight into the basic Entwistle worldview, such as there was one. The world is dark, but funny, and, if nothing else, you should have a good time as long as you're here. Reissue of his 2nd solo album, from 1972. Castle. 2005.
Includes a new interview with John Entwistle.
Remastered from the original U. K. masters.

John Entwistle - Whistle Rhymes Album Track Listing
Who Fans Gotta Have It. For all fans of the WHO and or Mr. Entwistle, this is a must have for your collection. Of the first three solo albums, this is the one that best displays his perverse, childish sense of humor. Even the saddest songs still come across in a light manner. But, don't think this album doesn't rock, 'cause it does. Excellent musicianship and lyrics make this an albun that should be in everyones collection. Listen and Enjoy. By mrdavememphis

A MASTERPIES (THE WHO S' LOST ALBUM) This albums is simply brilliant, superb and the Who s' bass-guitar player and composer John Entwistle s' masterpiece, All songs are solid and good. Peter Frampton guitar is all over the album and he is simply at his best on "Apron Strings" and "Ten Little Friends". This cd includes all original songs and there are new editions with some leftovers and demos. The production is clean and solid. A complex and interesting song like the closer "Nightmares (please wake me up)" are up to John Entwistle dark humor compositions. He was also a genius not only because he was the Bassit of the Milenium but also as a songwriter. Lonl live the Ox!!!!! By Luis

It's on CD It's hard to believe that anything artistic is on CD. This is only one great piece of work from The Ox. In fact it is an LP "oops" CD that is possible to hear the whole way through(I can't believe it's CD - lol). Thank you to the record companys who still feed the real art and music listeners.
