Originally part of a fan-based live bootleg project called Bootmoon, this recording of the pioneering and influential German electronic outfit Tangerine Dream is part of a series of unadorned live performances (the band habitually added post-production instrumentation and otherwise altered its sound on its official live releases). Done in Paris in 1981, this double-CD album documents the group at a fascinating point in its evolution, when fully structured compositions were steadily replacing its original loose, free-form improvisations.

Digitally remastered edtion of 'In Blue' that was originally released in 1995 as a double CD. For this disc, Schulze invited his old friend Manuel Gottsching (Ash Ra Tempel) to play his beautiful guitar on one of the long tracks. When "In Blue" was released, many fans thought that this was the most typical Schulze record for a long time. This special deluxe edition 3CD set is housed in a stylish digipak with a deluxe booklet, including new liner notes and photos. The third disc is a bonus CD with 53 minutes of additional Klaus Schulze music, previoiusly released.

As one of the original members of Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze certainly blazed some important trails on the virgin terrain of early-1970s electronic music--trails that would grow wide enough to accommodate millions of travelers throughout the '80s, '90s, 2000s, and beyond, and encompass everything from New Age and ambient music to drone and chill-out techno. The same commitment to innovation marks Schulze's solo discography, from which 1976's MOONDAWN emerges as one of the highlights.
Comprising two long compositions ("Floating" and "Mindphaser"), MOONDAWN is vintage, ambient space music generated by various analog synthesizers (foremost of which is the Moog, the key instrument Schulze used to sculpt his signature sound). Not only is MOONDAWN an important document in the early chapters of electronica, but it stands up remarkably well beside the countless albums it helped inspire.
