Italian pop star Zucchero has never hidden his love of American music. In fact, on much of this album--a collection of his artistic collaborations dating from 1988 to 2004--his appreciation for blues and jazz, in particular, is on full display. The ... Full Descriptionmost striking song on ZUCCHERO & CO. is "Dune Mosse," which pairs the singer with legendary jazz trumpeter Miles Davis for a dreamy track that tips its hat to Davis's revered KIND OF BLUE era. Zucchero's blues leanings are revealed on a number of tunes, most notably on "A Wonderful World" (with Eric Clapton) and "Diavolo in Me (A Devil in Me)" (with Solomon Burke), the disc's most energetic song. Regardless of the collaborator, Zucchero's full-bodied vocals stand out, particularly on emotive pop songs, including his cover of "Everybody's Got to Learn Sometime" (with Vanessa Carlton). For fans of American pop that are unfamiliar with Zucchero, this dynamic set is an ideal introduction.

Zucchero & Co. album
$11.55 My Chemical Romance are another in the swarm of hard-edged, emo-tinged punk-pop bands flooding the market of the early-to-mid 2000s, working firmly in a post-hardcore musical vein that doesn't rule out sensitivity and inspection in lyrical content. On I BROUGHT YOU MY BULLETS, YOU BROUGHT ME YOUR LOVE, the band's debut, My Chemical Romance shows that they don't fool around on either count. Bolstered by chugging, crunching guitars, pulse-quickening rhythms, and passionate, anthemic melodies straight from the alt-rock rulebook, MCR unleashes a blistering intensity that encourages raised, clenched fists, while incorporating elements of nu metal and punk with surprising skill.
Lead singer Gerard Way has a way with words, and I BROUGHT YOU MY BULLETS also serves as a tour through ...

Zucchero & Co. Music Review Average Rating: (4.5 out of 5 stars) Truly Wonderful! I purchased this cd because of some of the people he did duets with, but to my great surprise Zucchero is now one of my favorite artists. I just wish my teenage daughter had not "borrowed" the cd..... I don't think she plans on returning it! Submitted by tr_butler (Tulsa, OK, USA) Was This Review Helpful? A GReat Mix! I first heard this in my brother-in-law's car and then HAD to buy it for myself. It's a fun, eclectic mix of tunes -- with some FABulous singing! I HIGHLY recommend! Submitted by Jeanne (Larchmont, NY) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
