IN RESONANCE is an appropriate title for this album featuring Danny Becher on the Tibetan bowls. Exploring the sonic and spiritual properties of overtone music, Becher creates shimmering corridors and celestial vistas with his instruments, producing a powerful catalyst for meditation and deep relaxation. Becher keeps his instrumental palette varied, employing synthesizer, stringed instruments, and a male choir on various tracks. Yet each selection is in keeping with the meditative principles inherent in Tibetan music, giving IN RESONANCE a remarkably cohesive effect. The results should prove very productive for the practices of meditation, yoga, and the healing arts.
Personnel: Danny Becher (bowls).

| | David Lanz Christmas Album CD (1999)
In Resonance music CDs
$14.35 This mega popular new age pianist -- who jokingly refers to himself as a SNAG (Sensitive New Age Guy) -- has been one of Narada's core artists since the mid-80s and has one of the genre's best-selling albums of all time in 1988's Cristofori's Dream. Over the years, Lanz has contributed elegant arrangements of holiday classics to a series of label samplers, and in 1994 he put out Christmas Eve, which tied more interpretations together with brief improvisations. This release is stunning musically because he's on the mark whether he's hypnotizing with unique upper-register harmonies over tunes everyone has heard a million times ("Silent Night") or playing his own classics like the orchestral-fueled "Beloved." What's curious about this collection is what its exact point is. It's not a full compilation of his Christmas catalog (that would require his best snowy tune ever, "Rock the Herald Angels" with Paul Speer on Narada's second Christmas sampler) and it features tunes from a few of his non-holiday albums. Sure they're all beautiful and romantic and put you in the mood for snowfall and candles and warming up by the fire. But ...

| | Lanterna Elm Street CD (2001)
In Resonance songs
$11.49 Lanterna is the predominantly solo instrumental project of Henry Frayne, an Illinois-based composer who also was an integral part of The Moon Seven Times. Here, delicate guitar-led rock atmospheres create pastoral vistas. ELM STREET is the second outing for Lanterna and features the drumming of Colin Koteles. "B Minor" is reminiscent of The Church's album STARFISH, with an intoxicating road-trip reverb. This song was used in Steven Spielberg's film CATCH ME IF YOU CAN. The delicate vamp sound of "Departures" sends ripples of music outward in undulating echoes. "Old Seattle" is a futurist pun featuring an electronic collage emanating from an ARP synthesizer. Frayne's infectious strumming and picturesque compositional abilities make for an engaging of daydreams while listening to ELM STREET.
The compelling instrumental follow up to their critically acclaimed debut album \"Lanterna.\"\"Elm Street\" transcends whatever label one wishes to put upon it. Equally at home in collections of Rock, New Age or Ambient, it is simply an alluring collection of songs suitable for every moment of the day listening. A \'lanterna\" is a magic lantern. In the hands of delay-pedal guitar master Henry Frayne (Moon Seven Times, Area), this Lanterna will light the path into the deep corners of your mind to project road movies in slow motion. Lanterna visits the instrumental vistas that Pell Mell and Scenic have traveled for their music, though Lanterna\'s use of the wild west is ...

| | Markku LepistA Polku/Path CD (2006) (Import)
In Resonance CD music
$21.79 The second solo album by Markku Lepistö, Varttinä's accordionist, takes him from western Finland to the wide world. Markku's first much-acclaimed album, Silta ("Bridge"), was a eulogy to his roots in southern Ostrobothnia. This is what Markku has to say about his new album: "The album Polku ("Path") tells the story of my life since I left the Ostrobothnia region. Along the way there have been ups and downs, rocky paths, rail tracks, plenty of pitch-black highways, crossroads, comings and goings. On my journey I picked up the pictures and landscapes that are played in this recording. This album wouldn't exist without the friends who have shared my journey."As the years and kilometres have clocked up, Markku has developed his own, fresh language of composition, where Finnish tradition combines in a new way with influences he has collected on his travels round the world. Polku takes the listener from Ostrobothnia via Helsinki to Finisterre, a headland at the end of the world. The totally acoustic sounds in Polku are rich and ruggedly beautiful. Over the years, ...
