(12 Customer Reviews)
This is a DualDisc, which contains a CD on one side of the disc and a DVD on the other.
Fatty Koo were introduced to the world via a reality TV show (BET's BLOWIN' UP!: FATTY KOO) long before their debut album came out, which might create the wrong impression about the six-member hip-hop act. While they're all telegenic, in or just barely out of their teens, and their undeniably catchy first single, "Bounce," has become a familiar NBA theme, Fatty Koo formed long before their life became TV fodder. They have talent running beyond looks (including virtuosity on the cello and saxophone), and create a sound far more rich and diverse than their youth and hit single would imply.
HOUSE OF FATTY KOO seems to constantly reinvent itself while dancing over pop hook after pop hook. Incorporating hip-hop, soul, Latin beats, opera, and anything else that may strike their fancy, Fatty Koo recalls early Black-Eyed Peas. The record opens energetically, with "Bounce" sandwiched between two similarly appealing dance anthems. Then the group shows off the breadth in their arsenal. From the jazzy R&B of "Chills" to the funky "Lust" to the borderline-goth-opera of "H.O.F.K.," Fatty Koo displays impressive songwriting skills and a startling pop ear. This debut release shows what the intriguing new group can do better than any 30-minute show could.
This debut dualdisc from the musical collective comprised of six diverse and multi-talented adults includes the entire album in enhanced LPCM stereo, interviews by each member, exclusive behind-the-scenes footage, music video, and biography.

| | Eminem Marshall Mathers LP CD (2000)
House Of Fatty Koo
$10.45 THE MARSHALL MATHERS LP won the 2001 Grammy Award for Best Rap Album. "The Real Slim Shady" won the 2001 Grammy Award for Best Rap Solo Performance. THE MARSHALL MATHERS LP was nominated for the 2001 Grammy Award for Album Of The Year.
A Caucasian rapper from Detroit, a Dr. Dre disciple with bright blonde hair--at first glance, Eminem seemed the unlikeliest of hip-hop stars. However, his debut, THE SLIM SHADY LP, contained clever rhymes and even the occasional innovation. His sophomore effort, THE MARSHALL MATHERS LP, proved that Eminem was no fluke, but instead a legitimate rap visionary.
While his horror/shock rap can be unsettling, it's more often hilarious, as he and his Slim Shady character skewer anyone and everyone, notably the MTV-based ...
| | Enigma Cross Of Changes CD (1994)
House Of Fatty Koo
$11.59 On THE CROSS OF CHANGES, Enigma delves into the mystic with a musical fervor that transcends sampling technologies and popular dance beats. THE CROSS OF CHANGES is a serene yet supremely sensual musical synthesis that might best be characterized as new age hip-hop. Enigma's worldwide hit MCMXC A.D. was notable for, among other things, its use of Gregorian chants as samples in a heady techno mix, which inspired such delirious interest in this ancient music that The Benedictine Monks Of Santo Domingo De Silos are currently enjoying their own Top 10 hit--CHANT.
With THE CROSS OF CHANGES, Enigma's auteur Michael Cretu has merged a series of chants and simple devotional lyrics into a smooth techno-psychedelic wall of sound that is, in contemporary terms, a synthesized flipside ...

| | Judith Owen Happy This Way CD (2007)
House Of Fatty Koo
$12.19 A superior pop singer and songwriter, Judith Owen has been a major name in pop music since the late '90s. Happy This Way features a dozen of her songs, tunes that are generally wistful and sometimes playful. They stylistically hint at the Beatles and the 1960s in general, while remaining contemporary. Although her bio mentions her "pop, rock, jazz, classical, R&B, and theatrical influences," the music on Happy ...
