(1 Customer Review)
EXIT 674 is the 13-track debut release by Canadian rockers Ashes of Soma and includes "Emancipate" and "Time."
With their uninhibited social commentary and pulsating timbre, Ashes Of Soma's debut album, "Exit 674" is an impressionable tease: a viscerally flammable musical experience. Outrageously intense, quirky - yet disruptively mischievous as its roguish crew. With wired enthusiasm barely containable off each explosive track, one listen is all it takes to realize that Ashes Of Soma are gearing up to be revealed as Canada's best kept secret and hottest new discovery. Exit 674
$19.10 Essentially a harder-rocking reprise of Every Picture Tells a Story, Never a Dull Moment never quite reaches the heights of its predecessor, but it's a wonderful, multi-faceted record in its own right. Opening with the touching, autobiographical rocker "True Blue," which finds Rod Stewart trying to come to grips with his newfound stardom but concluding that he'd "rather be back home," the record is the last of Stewart's series of epic fusions of hard rock and folk. It's possible to hear Stewart go for superstardom with the hard-rocking kick and fat electric guitars of the album, but the songs still cut to the core. "You Wear It Well" is a "Maggie May" rewrite on the surface, but it develops into a touching song about being emotionally ...

Exit 674
$13.95 Digitally remastered two-fer containing a pair of the African musician's albums on one CD: Open & Close (1971) and Afrodisiac (1973). Of all African musicians, Fela Kuti probably needs the least introduction. He passed his half century with over 50 albums to his credit and became the radiant rallying point for African underclass and political prisoners everywhere. Nigerian Genius fleshing out his extravegance. Bass-laden soul music, flaring horns, a wild Jimmie Smith-like organ, and protest lyrics satirizing Nigerian oppression, militarism, and the ignorance of the 'civilized.' A must for all. Universal.

Exit 674
$10.75 This is the English version of the third Artrosis album but with extra bonuses: picture gallery, discography and a video to "Among the Flowers and Shadows"! Artrosis, considered to be the best gothic band in Poland, presents 11 marvelous compositions making up one lyrical & musical whole. Medeahs vocal skills seem to improve with every new album and here her work exceeds anything she has done before. The English language makes her voice more "fluent" and soft. The multiple guitar solos make the record slightly varied in style and climate, though never too off-the-course of Artrosis' characteristic and unique atmosphere.
