| | | Viva La Bands: Bam Margera Presents CDVarious Artists : | Daredevil skateboarder, prankster, music video director, and all-around hilarious cad Bam Margera is best known for his wildly popular MTV program VIVA LA BAM, an offshoot of the pioneering crazy-guys-doing-crazy-things show JACKASS. VIVA LA ... Full DescriptionBANDS collects Margera's favorite music and is perfect for skating, don't-try-this-at home stunts, or just general rocking out. In other words, most of this is high-energy music of the hard rock, metal, and punk varieties. Because this is a compilation of one guy's favorites rather than a collection of corporate bands vying for soundtrack positions, the artists range from big-time (Clutch, CKY) to lesser-known (Bendover, Viking Skull). Highlights include "Lost Boys" from Finland's 69 Eyes, which sounds like a goth-infused combination of Motley Crue and The Cult, and Turbronegro's "All My Friends Are Dead," pure trashy '77-style punk with shout-along vocals, surfy guitar riffs, and a distinctly European flair.
CD features music from Atrocity, Beatsteaks, Bendover, Children of Bodom, CKY, Clutch, Cradle of Filth, D:A:D, Datsuns, Daniel Lioneye, Fireball Ministry, Helltrain, H.I.M., Kill Hannah, Negative, Smack, The 69 Eyes, The Rasmus, The Sounds, Turbonegro, Viking Skull. Bonus DVD includes Never before seen lost episode of Viva La Bam shot in Iceland, Music Videos directed by Bam featuring H.I.M, Clutch, CKY, The 69 Eyes, Bams 2005 Elementality skate video and bonus outtakes. Sonny Rollins was always gifted with a brawny, expressive tone and a formidable sense of swing. But on SAXOPHONE COLOSSUS he conveyed a new-found harmonic confidence and a singular sense of thematic continuity that gave each improvisation a transcendent quality. And his attack, always cutting and direct, took on immense weight and warmth.
For his first trip out to California in March of 1957, Rollins celebrated his boyhood fascination with western imagery by interpreting classic cowpoke tunes. With WAY OUT WEST, Sonny was no longer simply a gifted sideman, but a consummate tenor saxophonist--ready to stretch out as ...

Whenever the proverbial Next Big Thing rolls around, it usually takes a few different bands to push the style into the mainstream. With grunge, Nirvana lit the spark, but it was Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, and Stone Temple Pilots who convinced everyone the Seattle sound was no fluke. In the case of the New Rock phenomenon, the Strokes brought ...
