| Rise Thru Da Ranks... Music Review Average Rating: (3.6 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews So very dissapointed Now I'm a true youngbleed fan, so if he drops a cd I go get it. But I was kinda upset when I got this one, some of the songs were aiight but for the most part it was terrible. The main thing is the beats they got him rapping to. A mellow voice, and hard beats don't mix. Not to mention them cats he got on there with him ain't doing him no justice. Now his first three solos to me are straight classics, cause the beat is mellow, it goes with the voice so he can pimp the beat, and he got the camp spittin on two of them. I wish him and the camp hadn't split up, it would of been classic after classic. I'm a still get that once upon a time in amedica when it drops, hopefully it suits him better. For the time being I guess I'll just have to keep on bangin My Own, and Vintage and sit back and wait. Submitted by kjmay26 (Augusta Ga.) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Too Through True South If you don't get southern rap, keep stepping. This is ain't for you. The beats are perfect Bleed's style and his flow never oversteps his bars. He almost makes it seems that there no breaks like some other rappers especially those from the East and West coast have to do to spit. This cd is pure. Missippi Tugh Louisana simmers, smokes then slams. Eva Change'n is a clinic in mastering lyrics with a off the wall beat. If you not knowing about this shut up, listen and learn. This is a hard cd to find, but if you do, it is worth every penny. Don't wait for it on radio, they ain't ready for this funk. Submitted by webat6922 (Tuscaloosa, AL) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

$11.65 This 1999 reissue contains three bonus tracks not included on the original release.
This remastered version of the self-titled 1974 album by disco pioneers Ecstasy, Passion, and Pain features six extra songs, including two mixes of the non-LP single "Touch and Go."
Ecstasy, Passion & Pain is a more fitting description of lead singer Barbara Roy's voice than the group as a whole. Roy's tough, gritty vocals might seem better suited to the earthy recordings of labels such as Stax or Hi, but she fits right in with Bobby Martin's Philly soul settings on the R&B hits "Ask Me," "I Wouldn't Give You Up," and "Good Things Don't Last Forever," the last of which was co-written by Bunny Sigler and Norman Harris. The input of such Philly soul veterans elevates the best of Roy's compositions to the level of second-tier Gamble & Huff imitations, although those legendary producers never worked with a talent like Roy when they applied their Midas touch to female groups like the Three Degrees and the Jones Girls. Unfortunately, Martin's orchestrated impersonations are not as successful on the group's ballads, partly because Roy's commanding presence is less effective on slower, ...
