Following up 2000's cast-of-thousands album IOMMI, Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi resurrected his solo project for 2005's FUSED. Session-drummer extraordinaire Kenny Aronoff and bassist/keyboardist Bob Marlette are once again on board, with former Deep Purple member Glenn Hughes joining in on vocals and bass. Given Hughes's history with Iommi--he sang on Black Sabbath's SEVENTH STAR, as well as an aborted 1996 Iommi record that eventually saw the light of day in 2004--their pairing seems quite natural. While nobody tops Iommi's rapport with Ozzy Osbourne, Hughes does an admirable job playing off the guitarist's gargantuan riffs, particularly on the fierce "Wasted Again" and the brooding "Resolution Song." FUSED closes on "I Go Insane," a nine-minute-plus suite that begins with David Gilmour-like leads and ends in a flurry of surging solos. In fact, Iommi's huge six-string sound is as potent as ever; this is bold, straightforward heavy metal that will immediately appeal to fans of latter-day Sabbath.

Personnel: Tony Iommi (guitar); Glenn Hughes (vocals); Bob Marlette (keyboards); Kenny Aronoff (drums); Sid Riggs, Mike Exeter (programming).

This (LP) is one of the best I have heard in this new era (of mostly crap) I'm old school and this ROCKED my newer World!
Heavy with strong and SOULFUL vocals!
Tony is heavier than some Sabbath and it works very well for me. Glenn's vocals are Spot On and work extremly well with Tony's playing. This is a MUST OWN for anyone who digs Sabbath/Purple/and Heavy Rock and Roll with the old heavy breathing of the 70's and a flavor of the new. BUY IT NOW!
You will not regret it!

Stellar release! Every song develops into a by the book pleaser. These guys could release a hundred albums that with songs like this. Fused is a perfect vehicle for Hughes' voice and Iommi's riff movements. Submitted by farm (Leesville, MO, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Hughes and Iommi who would have thought I was a little sus at first, how ever This CD really takes off from T1, Hughes never sounded better his vocal range on T2 is fantastic and Iommis riffs locks it all in and a bonus having having Kenny on the album. solid cd always good to hear either of these guys could have better hooks, anyone who knocks hughes vocals has no clue of vocal range or emotion and should listen to crap oops i mean rap Submitted by eyedrum (oxford USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Sounds good Great work musically, but surely the voice of Hughes could have been arranged and better adapted to Iommi's sound. Though the album sounds very good, clean, and full of emotions. I have enjoyed it a lot. Submitted by Jorge Bugueno Z. (Chile, south america) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Fused album
$9.99 There's something about a post-millennium album cover that features a giant blue-horned minion of Satan in pre-pounce with an illuminated crystal ball in its leathery hand that simply warms the soul, and the fact that it adorns a record called Master of the Moon can mean only one thing: Dio. Unlike many in the aging metal community, Ronnie James Dio still possesses the same powerful voice that fueled the genre through its late-'70s and '80s heydays, and the reigning dark prince of Elfdom and two-time Black Sabbath frontman is still capable of writing a killer song or two. MOTM resembles earlier works like Last in Line and Sacred Heart in its ability to buffer those one or two great tracks with seven or eight forgettable ones. Luckily, it's the first one ...
| | Tony Iommi Dep Sessions '96 CD (2004) Remastered
Fused CD music
$12.95 Two full decades after the release of 1986's underestimated Seventh Star album, Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi and journeyman vocalist/bassist Glenn Hughes (Trapeze, Deep Purple, etc.) decided the time had come for them to work together once again. Ensconcing themselves in Birmingham's DEP Studios, the duo composed and recorded eight tracks for release, but when Iommi was suddenly called into action with a re-formed and regularly touring original Sabbath, the work in progress was abandoned, filed away, and then, naturally, quickly bootlegged under the imaginative title of Eighth Star. Thus the tracks would remain for eight full years, until Iommi and Hughes finally reconvened to tidy them ...
| | Dream Theater Octavarium CD (2005)
Fused music CDs
$10.59 As the sole major-label progressive-metal act, Dream Theater invariably set the standard as the flagship band of the genre. With the numerically themed OCTAVARIUM (including eight tracks signifying the band's eighth release) the shred-rock quintet continues to challenge themselves creatively. Opening track "The Root Of All Evil" picks up the thread that began with "The Glass Prison" (SIX DEGREES OF INNER TURBULENCE) and carried forward to "This Dying Soul" ...

Fused CD music
$10.89 Having risen from the ashes of Flaw in early 2005, Five.Bolt.Main released their debut album, Venting, late that year. But before the bells rang in 2006, over half the band bolted on the eve of their tour. At this point, three members of Main's opening act, Alston, stepped into the breach, in what now is ...
