With her deep, velvety voice and exotically statuesque presence, German model/ rock singer Nico became an icon of the 1960's. Part of Andy Warhol's Factory crowd and a frequent singer for proto-punk New York band The Velvet Underground, Nico followed a familiar pattern of the era by being at once a gorgeous superstar and a degenerating heroine junkie. This release features two live performance videos which star Nico -- HEROINE and AN UNDERGROUND EXPERIENCE. The first contains an emotional performance of acoustic songs at the Library Theatre in Manchester; the latter is footage of a 1980's punk gig at an underground venue. Shot in grainy video, the visual aesthetic enhances the rough and raw attitude of Nico and the punk rock that she performs.

On Chimaira's second full-length album, THE IMPOSSIBILITY OF REASON, the Midwestern nu-metal outfit charges out of the gate with an electrifying mix of brutally direct Sabbath-esque guitars, the scariest death metal howls this side of Morbid Angel, and double-kick-drum patterns so fast and clean they make Slipknot's drummer sound like the guy who played on "Louie Louie." Unlike many of its similarly hard-edged contemporaries, Chimaira features the added novelty of a full-time member who is credited with "lead electronics." Not simply a DJ, knob-twister Chris Spicuzza adds a distinctive palette of ambient noise to the proceedings, which in combination with the sonic mayhem spewed forth by the rest of the band, often makes for a uniquely disconcerting, yet strangely addictive listening experience.
Produced by Ben Schigel and mixed by Colin Richardson, Chimaira mange to praise those metal giants that came before them, while drawing up the blueprint for the new wave of the likes of "Down Again", "Pure Hatred" and "Cleansation". As the appetite for 'real' metal is returning, post-nu, now is the time for Chimaira. This specially packaged version of "Impossibility Of Reason" includes a bonus disc of previously unreleased tracks, two videos and limited edition slipcase.
