Absolutely Infectious Album
Who could resist this album!!! The first word that came to mind when I played it was “sunny.” It defies genre, really. I couldn’t say for sure whether it’s country or California pop, but whatever it is, it’s wonderful! With tight musicianship, lots of melodic and skillful guitar artistry, gorgeous vocals, and great catchy songs, this is one heck of a listening experience.
The album opens with “Lovin’ You”, a sunny, upbeat love song with some wonderful guitar work, that pervades the entire album. In “Love Or Something Like It”, a man, haunted by a past love affair, is unsure whether he’s really in love or not. This is followed by “Dreamin’ Of A Woman”, a downright sensual song, that is romantic beyond belief!
In the title track, “Here Come Those Dreams Again”, a man mourns his lost love, and all his shattered dreams for their future. And in “Ordinary People”, love goes wrong after the woman finds someone new. I love the Spanish influence in this song.
“You Can’t Lose What You Never Had” discusses two lovers who break it off after realizing that they honestly don’t have much of a relationship. This song has a particularly stunning vocal! In the following song, “Too Much”, a man loves his lady, but just can’t stay faithful to her. Again, another beautiful vocal here.
“Don’t Mind Messin’” is an upbeat, catchy song of seduction. A really fun number, which I could picture Elvis approving of! “Feel So Right” is another joyful love song, while “What Would You Do” is a lovely ballad, in which a man fears his love is being unfaithful, and may leave him.
But these guys, not surprisingly, can’t end on this somber note. Nestled in after track ten is a rousing instrumental, which is up-tempo, guitar driven and ever so much fun!
This is one of those records destined to make you feel good! Whether driving in the car, lounging on the beach or lying on the couch, this is bound to put a smile on your face. There is a nice variety of love songs, with stunning vocals, wonderful arrangements, and a great sense of passion and fun! Go get this one! It’s absolutely infectious! Highly recommended!!
