(35 Customer Reviews)
A collection that combines previously unreleased songs with earlier tracks and remixes, MOST WANTED serves as a thumbnail sketch of Hilary Duff's 2003-2005 recording career. The three new songs here feature the charming singer pairing up with ... Full Descriptionthe Dead Executives production team, resulting in the techno-tinged "Wake Up," the upbeat "Beat of My Heart," and the rocked-out "Break My Heart," which sounds like Duff fronting the Foo Fighters. The rest of the disc presents cherry-picked tracks from her hugely successful first two albums (including the guitar-heavy "Metamorphosis" and the urgent "Fly") and the soundtrack for her 2004 film A CINDERELLA STORY, most notably an energetic rendition of the Go-Go's' "Our Lips Are Sealed." While the remixes don't depart much from the originals, they do give the tunes an added punch and make Duff's assertive and amiable vocals even more prominent. For those unfamiliar with Duff's undeniably catchy pop/rock sound, this is an excellent sampler of her best songs.

Hilary Duff : Most Wanted A wonderful compilation of some of Hilary Duff's best songs, however the new stuff is regrettably a step down from her previous album : "Hilary Duff". Don't get me wrong, I, myself, am a big fan.
Even though, Hilary Duff still manages to shine and renew her older tracks.
Out of the three new tracks, "Wake Up", "Beat Of My Heart" and "Break My Heart", it would have to be said that Break My Heart stands above the other two easily. It, instead of Wake Up, should have been her comeback single. The best two songs on this album?
1. Come Clean
2. Fly Submitted by Leanne (United Kingdom) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Most Wanted album
$13.99 COME AWAY WITH ME won the 2003 Grammy Awards for Album Of The Year, Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Engineered Album (Non-Classical).
"Don't Know Why" won the 2003 Grammy Awards for Record Of The Year, Song Of The Year and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.
Arif Mardin won the 2003 Grammy Award for Producer Of The Year (Non-Classical).
This is a hybrid Super Audio CD playable on both regular and Super Audio CD players.
A direct descendant from the pedigree of one of the 20th century's virtuosos, Norah Jones might not be on such a lofty artistic level as her dad Ravi Shankar, but certainly inherited some musical intuition from him. With nary a sitar nor raga within earshot, the young newcomer sounds very much an assimilated, western, 21st century pop-jazz singer. One thing that separates her from the pack is Ms. Jones' own piano stylings--not flashy, but deftly doubling or echoing her voice--that discreetly act as the glue holding together these airy, delicate, and beautiful arrangements.
But the centerpiece is certainly the 22-year-old's confident-beyond-her-years vocal delivery in addition to a precise diction and velvety tone. Shades of Nina Simone, vintage Phoebe Snow, and a less beatnik Rickie Lee Jones are evident throughout as the young siren coolly sashays through mostly new material by guitarist-songwriter Jesse Harris (formerly of Once Blue) and a few choice covers. Veteran producer Arif Mardin frames a most notable debut with a translucent touch, ...
| | Hilary Duff Metamorphosis CD (2003)
Most Wanted CD music
$12.99 SANTA CLAUS LANE aside, this is the debut album by the ever-perky Hilary Duff, best known for her title role in the LIZZIE MCGUIRE movie and television series. It's appropriate that one of 2003's "it" girls kicks off her first proper collection of tunes with "So Yesterday," a song that celebrates an assertive present and a bright future. Taking cues from her slightly older peers Avril Lavigne and Michelle Branch, Duff leans towards catchy pop-rock anthems on tracks such as "Come Clean," "Workin' It Out," and "The Math." However, the blonde teen queen also tries on some mid-tempo electronica ("Little Voice") and slower, more introspective songs ("Where Did I Go Right?," "Love Is Just," and "Inner Strength"). Although the precocious 16-year-old is already a successful actress, it appears that Duff's talents extend to pop music, and she's likely to have a promising career both on and off the screen.
Already having had a #1 in the US Billboard Charts, with both her debut album and single, Hilary Duff is one of the States biggest and brightest stars. Best known as "Lizzie McGuire", Duff has enjoyed ...
| | Jojo CD (2004)
Most Wanted music CDs
$13.85 The title of JOJO's first track, the revved-up and funky "Breezy," sums up the spirit of the record, as JoJo's elastic vocals belie her age. She displays an uncanny ability to balance the sensuous and the sweet on the friendship-turning-into-love jam "Homeboy," and even shows a knack for ballads with a faithful rendition of SWV's 1992 hit "Weak." Sure, JoJo is young, but she proves herself to be a performer beyond her years on this strong debut.
Teen-pop ...
| | Ashlee Simpson Autobiography CD (2004)
Most Wanted songs
$13.09 The younger sister of pop star/reality-TV icon Jessica Simpson, Ashlee Simpson has done nothing to hide her well-documented connection. However, to assume Ashlee is a carbon copy of her superstar sibling or simply trying to ride Jessica's coattails would be plain wrong. While Jessica sings straightforward, gentle pop tunes, Ashlee's music tends towards the angst-ridden and self-analytical, and where Jessica's vocals are light and bouncy, Ashlee explodes with a teen-punk roar.
With her debut record, AUTOBIOGRAPHY, Ashlee unveils a soul-searching sound that lies somewhere between the precocious explorations of Avril Lavigne and the jaded wanderings of Alanis Morissette. The opening single "Pieces of Me" features an ever-changing musical landscape, with Ashlee's powerful voice fading ...
| | Hilary Duff CD (2004)
Most Wanted album
$12.65 Hilary Duff led a pretty charmed childhood, with her performing career moving from a successful television show as a pre-teen to blockbuster movies and a major recording deal as a teen. Just shy of 17 years old, Duff released her second record, a self-titled follow-up to the hugely successful METAMORPHOSIS. 2004's HILARY DUFF discards the bubble-gum edges of its predecessor and sets forth a certain rock power. Duff's music is no vanity project, and her sophomore release reveals a creative, ...

Most Wanted CD music
$9.69 With 2003's THANKFUL, Kelly Clarkson proved that her AMERICAN IDOL win was no fluke by putting out a solid album of gospel-influenced R&B performed with the panache of a seasoned veteran. In late 2004, the Texas native delivered on the promise of her sophomore record's title, BREAKAWAY, by diving headfirst into alternative-rock-flavored pop of the Avril Lavigne/Michelle ...

Most Wanted CD music
$6.29 Mahal's husky voice carries every song and, although his guitar playing isn't prominent on much of the disc, there's still no mistaking his fleet-fingered solos. Those looking for a collection of classic Taj Mahal should seek out Columbia's 17-track THE BEST OF TAJ MAHAL or, better yet, the label's two-disc ESSENTIAL TAJ MAHAL, but for listeners wanting an accessible introduction to the latter-day work of this blues master, TAKE A GIANT STEP fits the bill.

| | Lucero Rebels, Rogues & Sworn Brothers CD (2006)
Most Wanted music CDs
$12.15 For REBELS, ROGUES & SWORN BROTHERS, their last album on their own Liberty & Lament Records, Memphis's Lucero deliver the kind of blood, sweat, and tears that have made them '00s roots rock darlings, road monsters, and signees to Universal Music Group. This kind of ragged-heart-on-the-sleeve alt.country/Southern rock lives or dies on the realness of its soul, and Lucero offer a walk-it-like-they-talk-it urgency to be reckoned with across the album's 12 tracks. On stand-outs like the rousing Springsteenesque opener "What Else Would You Have Me Be?" and the shattering "On the Way Back Home," Ben Nichols employs the obligatory whiskey references but inhabits each potentially cliched phrase as if he'd be joining the army or eternally tending bar in some dive (like the characters in his ...
