Panic! At The Disco's debut album is a genre-busting blend of slick, poppy emo-influence punk, Strokes-like rock, and, well, disco. While the first two genres fit together seamlessly, a blend of all three is a risky proposition usually attempted only by experienced professionals. Nevertheless, these inspired neophytes score time and again with tracks like the glittering "Camisado," with its sparkling sequencer interlude, and the witty "Lying Is the Most Fun a Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off" (the opaqueness of Panic!'s song titles is a large part of their charm). The band's lyrics tumble out in a rush, while their musical ideas are a complex distillation of pop's last 40 years, played with an innocence and enthusiasm as infectious as it is exhilarating.Rolling Stone (No. 986, p.90) - 3.5 stars out of 5 - "...Panic pillage two pop-friendly musical trends--Eighties keyboard nostalgia and angry-boy pop-punk--and create something new." Kerrang (Magazine) (p.67) - Ranked #15 in Kerrang's "20 Greatest Albums of 2006" -- "[A] ridiculously accomplished debut album that overflowed with moments of inspired melodic invention." Mojo (Publisher) (p.112) - 4 stars out of 5 -- "[U]ltra-sharp lyrics and high-velocity mood and tempo switches make listening as exciting as lugeing down an ice chute with blindfolds on." Never Looked Better PANIC! At The Disco's CD is my all-time new favorite. From their choice of words and explicit lyrics, you really have to dig deep to see what they're talking about, not what they're just what they're singing about. The vocals and music are unique and I can't help but relate to the abstract lyrics and musics that all seem to fit in simultaneously together.
Usually I only like 3 or 4 of the songs in an album, but there's only one song that I don't like right now, though this music can be hard to get used to.
All in all, this gets a 5 out of 5 no doubt because. They're the new cancer and they've never looked better. Submitted by Mel (Pattaya,Thailand) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 2 of 3 found this helpful.

Fever You Can't Sweat Out
$20.19 While Randal Keith is best known now to his fans as Jean Valjean in the long running musical Les Misérables, he has spent many years in local, regional and national companies playing a wide range of parts. He has played The Phantom in the First National Tour of The Phantom of the Opera and also played Raoul and Monsieur Andre during the six years he toured with that company. He is one of the few actor/singers who have played all three major male roles in Phantom. He toured in Sunset Boulevard before joining the Les Misérables cast, where he eventually became Jean Valjean in the Third National Les Misérables Tour. In July of 2002 he performed as the alternate Jean Valjean, along with the original Valjean, Colm Wilkinson, in the Third National tour's engagement in Shanghai, China, the first ever Broadway musical to visit that country. He then starred in the production in Seoul, Korea, and in February of 2003 was picked by producer Cameron Mackintosh to star as Valjean on Broadway to close Les Misérables' sixteen year run there in May 2003. Mr. Keith remembers that night as the emotional high point of his career to date, filled with incredible energy and love for a show that continues to enthrall audiences around the world. He went on to close the Broadway Tour in St. Louis, Missouri, in 2006.He has recently performed the roles of governor/innkeeper in Man of La Mancha, for which he received a nomination for the 2007 LA Stage Alliance Ovation Award for Featured Actor in a Musical. He is presently performing as King Arthur in Spamalot in Las Vegas, Nevada.Other roles Mr. Keith has performed are Che in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Evita, John Jasper in The Mystery of Edwin Drood, and Nicoli in Chess. He has sung in concert with the prestigious Cincinnati, Tulsa and Rochester Symphonies. His first CD, Life Has Been Good To Me is now available. ...
