On her fifth studio album, singer/songwriter Sheryl Crow leaves her carefree rock tunes by the side of a winding road, traveling forward with a subdued, introspective set of songs. The result is akin to Beck's SEA CHANGE, a record that largely eschews upbeat pop in favor of quieter, more thoughtful tracks. (In fact, Beck's father, David Campbell, provides string arrangements for almost every song on WILDFLOWER.)
Although there is a notable chamber-pop feel to this 2005 album, with an orchestra present on all but one track, the strings never eclipse Crow's pensive songs, and the focus here remains on her immediately recognizable and strikingly emotive vocals. "I Know Why" opens WILDFLOWER with gentle acoustic-guitar and banjo lines, while the Eastern-tinged "Chances Are" coasts over a foundation of subtle synthesizers and tabla-like drum programming. The disc's most energetic moment, "Live It Up," hews closest to Crow's past hits, but the overall mood of the record is beautifully autumnal, revealing that, even more than a decade into her solo career, she's not afraid to challenge herself or her listeners

Sheryl Crow Wildflower Songs Wildflower Music Review Average Rating: (3.7 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews Amazing This is my first CD from Sheryl Crow. I have her greatest hits album. But I feel this album is a much better effort. There are very few songs which hook me the moment I hear them. Perfect lie is one such song. Absolutely heart wrenching. Rarely can I leave an album to play itself out, every song inclusive. Wildflower is one such album. Submitted by arkangel (Singapore) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Once again, It only captures the few who really know. It does sadden me that the "listening public" cannot do what their supposed to do."LISTEN TO IT AGAIN SH**HEAD".This album has blown me away. Not since" Tuesday Night" first made me take intrest in this incredible artist,I did listen to most her other releases but not with the same intrest.Perfect Lie, I Know Why,Good is Good, Chances Are and Alway's on your Side are and have unbeleivable flow, production and great sound.I don't expect this cd was made for the twenty something crowd but for us that understand what it takes to be this good, my graditude and appreciation. For the rest of you who didn't like this effort......I'm sure there must be a Milly Vanilli that you can purchase. Why the bad reviews? Theres nothing wrong with this latest effort from Sheryl Crow. If this was performed by Crowded House or any other fine exponents of great pop songs it would have rave reviews. Why pick on it because maybe it is a little smoother than previous efforts? Every song on this CD is very listenable and easy to place in your car on repeat play. Catchy hooks, well played and great vocals make this collection a worthy piece for any collector of great pop songs. If you like Sheryl Crow you should like this!! TOO POLISHED... TOO MANY STRINGS AND ORCHESTRATIONS
BUT I LIKED THE SONGS THAT FLOW TOGETHER AS IN THE ARRANGEMENTS FOR LETTER TO GOD AND LIVE IT UP--THOUGH HER VOICE IS MORE POLISHED NOW AND LESS ROUGH AND SPONTANEOUS --I STILL ENJOYED THE DELUX VERSION OF THIS CD BUT IT IS BETTER OVERALL AS BACKGROUND MUSIC WITH NO
SO CALLED HITS---BUT HOW CAN YOU NOT APPRECIATE HER VARIOUS STAGES IN HER LIFE.
JUST HOPE SHE SPEEDS UP BACK TO THE FUN AND SPONTANEOUSNESS OF SOME OF HER PAST EFFORTS NEXT TIME. Submitted by DCONZO (ANDOVER OHIO USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
What happened to Sheryl Crow??? I own and love every CD put out by Sheryl Crow so I had no reason to believe I wouldn't love "Wildflowers." I hate this CD--not only is it way too slow, many of the songs on this CD sound like songs on her other CD's, just slowed down. I don't get this, she has been dating Lance Armstrong, World Athlete #1, if being with him wouldn't inspire some fiery and fun songs, what would? Was he abstaining due to training? Is she just exhausted? Come on, Come on Sheryl--utilize the drummer in your band and write some fun songs again. Submitted by perki300 (Hamilton, NJ) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Wildflower album
$10.39 Although Coldplay was already big before A RUSH OF BLOOD TO THE HEAD's 2002 release, nothing could have prepared the British band for the album's Grammy-garnering runaway success. In addition to becoming a full-blown rock star, frontman Chris Martin remained in the media spotlight through his marriage to actress Gwyneth Paltrow and the subsequent birth of the couple's child. What followed for Coldplay was, reportedly, a difficult and lengthy recording process where the group tinkered extensively with their ...

Wildflower CD music
$15.99 Coming after the relative commercial disappointment of 2002's pop-oriented CRY--and, not at all coincidentally, Gretchen Wilson's rise as the new Everygirl of country--Faith Hill's FIREFLIES is a blatant attempt to ditch the singer's glamourpuss image and reassert her country roots, such things having become fashionable again. This isn't a problem, however: Shania Twain-like chart ...

$9.75 Neil Young always seems to be making a comeback, but detractors who have diligently panned his releases from the 1990s and 2000s (and sometimes with good reason) will be forced to change their tune with 2005's PRAIRIE WIND. A plaintive, thoughtful, country-rock album that recalls both 1992's HARVEST MOON and 1972's HARVEST, PRAIRIE WIND is Young's strongest, most focused, and most compulsively ...

Wildflower CD music
$16.45 Rico Cicero Rico Cicero has been on the entertainment scene for many years, but has chosen to be in the shadow. He said as a kid his greatest wish was to be invisible, I do believe deep down in his heart he still has that wish. He has written over two hundred songs, several short stories for video clips and an endless list of poetry. Most of the lyrics and musical compositions in this cd were simultaneously revealed to him in his dreams. That is why all credits for the writing and composing of these songs on this album "Righteousness" belong to a power much higher than us all. He was born in Jamaica, migrated to Canada at a young age, there he began his music career writing, composing, and singing peace songs, at peace concerts, and protest marches around North America, but some how he never published his music. This album title "Righteousness" is a true expression of the way he sees the world falling apart from greed, corruption, imperialistic oppressions, political and religious exploitations, state, civil, and religious terrorism, drug addictions, famine, diseases, pollution starvation and a total lost of respect for humanity. So once again he is trying to bring awareness trough his music to the tragedy our planet earth is facing. There are many different styles of music on this album, but can not escape that Jamaican roots. Songs like track no 1 "Why we got to cry", track no 2 "Wrapped up in God's love," track no 6 "Promised Land," and track no 10 "Terrorism is freighting" are all Ska Rhythm. Track no 3 "Terrorism is a menace", and track no 11 "Time bomb ticking" are Musical Poetry. Track no 4 "Mon Cherie" Is Dance Hall Reggae. Track no 5 "Got to stay clean" is more Roots Rock Reggae. Track no 9 "Songs that make me strong' is Country. Track no 12 "Please pray for me, and track no 7 "Angel" Are Gospeland track no 8 "Religion" is Folk. Rico Cicero has made Holland his home for many years, there he found a lot of peace, tranquility ...
