| In The Mean Time Music Review Average Rating: (4 out of 5 stars) fantastic I found out about this band through a back to school church event. Gretchen has kind of a hard rock sound but with a female vocalist. She has a great, one of a kind voice that I think is really good. Her songs have a meaning to them. Also, Grethen has a different look than ordinary (not saying that it's bad, I like it myself. She has blonde hair with tight braids to her head). Getting There This CD is great, lots of power and incredible vocals to back it up. There is a message in every song and it is very positive. Wouldn't call it Gospel, but positive. I think the band has some growing to do as all bands do after their first release, but this is a 5 star first release. I can't remember the last time a band's first CD was this talented. It is a well worth it buy! Submitted by Glenn (Rock Hill, SC, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
About Time This CD is awsome. It's about time we get a positive band out there that actually has substance. Evanescence never stayed true to their form when interviewed about their music. I als agree with the other review that since Moody is gone, the band will cease to exist at the same level. I heard Amy live and it was pretty brutal. Gretchen is the real deal and they deserve to have their music promoted in a much broader device. Spread the word! Submitted by Kuzzinator (Washington, DC) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Great Really cant go wrong with her CD, she has a lot to say and I think she is talented enough to say it through her songs. Really fantastic Submitted by Tim (Peoria, AZ, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

In The Mean Time
$11.65 EVERCLEAR, AMC's finest hour and one the '90s' most powerful albums, is simultaneously lush and searing, heartache and despair borne out in elegant arrangements that combine fragile prettiness and soul-baring howls of pain. Multi-instrumentalist Bruce Kaphan rose to the occasion of his production debut. The canyons of reverb on the instruments are strangely appropriate, highlighting the almost decadent, tragically beautiful feel of the songs. Keyboards, pedal steel, and acoustic guitars drift like abandoned ships swirling around in a colorfully tempestuous sea full of unknown nautical demons. Guitarist Vudi contributes some of the most artful, non-traditional ...

$9.29 This is a Hyper CD, which contains regular audio tracks and also provides a link to the artist's website with the help of a web browser.
At first listen, Swedish rockers Blindside might sound similar to their American pals P.O.D. However, Blindside's fourth album, ABOUT A BURNING FIRE, is their most fully realized effort to date, bringing the band's unique take on heavy rock into distinct and full focus.
Refreshingly light on the kind of screaming vocals that have become a cliche over the years (Christian Lindskog's tuneful self-harmonizing is one of the group's major assets), Blindside's anthemic rock, with its direct, uplifting message of youthful redemption, ...

| | Trembling Blue Stars Last Holy Writer CD (2007) (Import) United Kingdom
In The Mean Time
$15.25 Truth be told, the Trembling Blue Stars routine was getting kind of stale by the release of Seven Autumn Flowers in 2004. With that album they crossed the line that divides reliable and predictable; no longer did the morose lyrics, melancholy vocals, minor chords and cheesy synths make a positive impression. Luckily for fans of the band, The Last Holy Writer is a comeback of sorts, certainly an improvement, and maybe even one of their finest records. How did they do it? It's hard to say because on the surface it seems like not much has changed sound or mood-wise. There's still a preponderance of downbeat lyrics and Bob Wratten hasn't suddenly traded in his mope for a smile, no fear of that anytime soon. The building blocks of their sound are mostly the same too. What makes a difference here is a boost in the overall energy level from unrelenting gloom to mostly sad, a slightly expanded sonic palette that makes room for field recordings and a wider range of drum sounds, and most importantly, some really good songs. Chief among them are the Beth Arzy-sung "Idyllwild" which, ...

In The Mean Time
$28.85 This recording of Jesus Christ Superstar is based on the 1996 London stage revival, but it is not billed as a revival cast album because it does not feature all the members of the stage cast; the primary difference is that Alice Cooper has been brought in to sing "King Herod's Song." This is, therefore, technically a "studio cast" recording. It benefits, however, from the stage experience of principals Steve Balsamo (Jesus Christ), Zubin Varla (Judas Iscariot), ...

In The Mean Time
$9.85 Kore's Bramble CD/12 original songs by Emily Jayne.Who is Kore?In Greek mythology, Persephone (Kore) was the embodiment of the Earth's fertility at the same time that she was the Queen of the Underworld, the korē (or young maiden), and the parthenogenic daughter of Demeter—and, in later Classical myths, a daughter of Demeter and Zeus. In the Olympian version she also becomes the consort of Hades when he becomes the deity that governs the underworld.Who is Emily Jayne?Born in Northern Minnesota, Emily Jayne has been captivating audiences from a young age.
