The Chubby Checker installment in the Cameo Parkway series, an excellent string of discs highlighting the label's artists from the late 1950s and '60s, will disappoint neither long-time fans nor those looking for a compilation of Chubby's biggest hits. Naturally, "The Twist" is here, as are all of the singer's follow-up cash-ins ("Let's Twist Again;" "Slow Twistin,'" etc.), and a host of other dance-craze songs ("The Hucklebuck;" "Limbo Rock," "The Fly"). The mood is light, buoyant, and fun throughout, as anyone familiar with any of Checker's singles would assume. Excellent sound and liner notes make this a fine choice for anyone seeking a one-stop set of Checker's best moments.

King of the Twist is a good description. The tracks all were very good dance tracks. He did chart with five other songs which weren't featured and I don't know why? Nearly a five star rating.

FINALLY, THE ORIGINAL PARKWAY RECORDINGS ON CD. ALL PREVIOUS CD RELEASES HAVE BEEN RE-RECORDINGS. THESE ARE THE REAL McCOYS. ENJOY THE GREAT CHUBBY CHECKER IN MONOPHONIC SOUND. LET'S TWIST AGAIN!!

Chubby Rocks!
You listen and you say, "Why is this guy so under-rated? Why isn't he in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame? How has the magnitude of the twist been so overlooked?" Cameo-Parkway at last has released the original recordings and I'm so glad of that. Even though the CD has some wonderful minor hits, it is a little top-heavy with these. Where is "20 miles" for example? I love that song! What good-time music, what fun, music that the whole family could enjoy. The sound quality is superb. I'm giving it 4 *'s because of the glaring omissions and because they won't let me give it a 4.8

Finally, after many years of finding only re-recordings of Chubby's hits, comes this fabulous CD of the original recordings, remastered and sounds GREAT! If you want the originals, this is the one to buy!

Overall I found this to be a valuable addition to my collection of original 1950s & `60s UK hit single recordings. The only reservations I have is that "Let`s Twist Again" does not have the drive and enthuiasm demonstrated on the other tracks or the original vinyl single. I still believe it is a copy of the original with the apparent differnce being in the re-mastering. It`s a pity that "Teach me to twist", the only UK hit from the `59 - `63 era, wasn`t included
