No La belle et la Bete
This could have been 100% pefect had they included the mindblowingly ahead of it's time soundtack, "La Belle et la Bete" which is the way it was originally released

Finally! The Masterpiece Reissued and re-released!
It's about time!
The Love That Whirls (Diary Of A Thinking Heart) is one of the greatest albums ever recorded in my opinion. This album convinced me that Bill Nelson is a musical genius. On this album you will hear a mix of synth-pop, electro-funk, new wave-ish rock, ambient, and other nameless brilliance. Some of it tinged with an oriental flavor. This music is like nothing you will ever hear anywhere else.
Along with the original songs that were on the Cocteau release from 1982, the songs
Flesh, He And Sleep Were Brothers, Haunting In My Head, Hope For The Heartbeat (remix) and the instrumental The Passion. Some of which were featured on the EP Flaming Desire And Other Passions.
I've said it before and I'll say it again...Bill Nelson is a genius and it's too bad the world doesn't even know it.

Bill Is One Of The Best !
This cd by Bill Nelson is one of my all time favorite cd's..I agree with the other reviewer that the world does not even know who he is...but those who do, know how great he is. I own over 50 cd's on him.

Totally unique
Nelson had been trying to perfect electronic Pop music since Drastic Plastic (the final Be Bop album), through Red Noise and his early solo works. Here, he succeeded (ruining the subsequent explosion of electropop and rave for me as nothing could live up to a masterpiece like Empire Of The Senses).
I agree wholeheartedly with the other posters here - you must hear this album.

Own This Or Be A Boob
Since the 80's, I've been quite the Bill Nelson fan. About a decade later, I had the great fortune of seeing Bill perform live at a record store in NYC when "New Moons And Laughing Guitars" came out.
I try and turn as many people as I can on to Bill. I start with "The Love That Whirls", then work backwards a bit with Bee Bop Deluxe and then forward at top speed. I actually used this album as inspiration when composing a thesis on a fairy tale called "Beauty And The Beast" when I was in college. Bill provides head music that ignites your ability to recieve information. Sounds crazy right? But it's true.
As other reviewers have mentioned, this man is a genius and I have nothing but tremendous respect for his great body of work. I think I own all of it. However, with Bill, there always seems to be an ever-ellusive recording out there that is highly coveted.
Buy this CD. You'll thank Bill and then the Gods for designing his gift to music.
