A one-time member of New Orleans's Hot Boys, rapper Lil Wayne attained a new level of confidence and skill on 2004's THA CARTER. That album featured only a few guest shots (as opposed to typically star-studded hip-hop records), and this 2005 sequel once again keeps things focused on Wayne, with the MC flying solo on almost every track. This uncluttered scenario, which relies on a spare, yet distinctly Cash Money-style musical backdrop, gives Wayne the freedom to let his laid-back rhymes stretch out, as best revealed on the ominous "Fireman" and the boastful "Best Rapper Alive." Young Carter iz getting his grown man on this time around The Kid iz on top of thingz this album iz HOT a must buy. The only thing left iz to watch the almighty Juvenile flop cuz that "Rodeo" stuff iz whack.

5 stars Another Success...
Wayne really did his thing on this one. This CD is more about him putting it down lyrically and less about commercial success. For those that want to hear Wayne spitting some real then this album is a must. Really, the only song on here that he could have used as a single was "Fireman". Other than that it's just Wayne doing his thing. I've been down with him since day one and I must admit that he has definitely grown over the years and this one really shows how he has grown lyrically.

5 stars The Best Lil Wayne Album Ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This cd is better than tha carter I, and Carter III, He isnt the best rapper alive but this album is top quality, Im not a huge Wayne Fan but in my opinion if you rated this album less than 4 stars you a hater. GIVE CREDIT WHERE ITS DO!!!!!!!!

Wezzy is no joke on this album. The young dude really got his stuff together feel me... hottese album on the year, good way to end 2005.

Lil Wayne has really stepped up his rap game, he might not be the Best Rapper Alive, but he's sure one of the best in the game right now. There is not one song that i can skip over even the not so Lil Wayne song with "Shooters" i love that song. He again has showed people that MC's from the south can spit that "FireMan". I give Weezy F. Baby made respect for this album. Keep doing your thing folk. And i'm looking forward to Tha Carter Three.
